  1. 'We need to match fans' performance' - Gerrardpublished at 19:53 British Summer Time 10 August 2021

    Rangers v Malmo (20:00) (1-2 agg)

Rangers boss Steven Gerrard tells Premier Sports he is "looking for a special night".

"We have to start the game with the right intensity and be as aggressive as we can," he adds.

"The fans will come with us. It'll be a big performance from the supporters. We need to find a performance to match that."

On the changes to starting XI: "Allan [McGregor] is experienced, we are going to need a big moment from him. Leon [Balogun] is fit and ready to go. At times we'll have to take risks and that's what Scott [Wright] is in the team for."

They drew 1-1 in Greece last week, with the return kicking off at 19:00 tonight. It's currently 1-0 to Olympiacos at half-time.

Saturday will have blown a lot of cobwebs off Morelos. He will be better tonight for that and adrenaline will get him through it. It'll be the first time he's played in front of a full Ibrox for a while as well

    Rangers v Malmo (20:00) (1-2 agg)

Rangers midfielder Joe Aribo tells Premier Sports he can't wait to play in front of a packed Ibrox.

He said: "The fans are like the 12th man. They're so good to have around. I love it and buzz off it.

"This is the reason why I came to Rangers, for nights like this. I can't wait to go."

  7. 'Last season's gone...Rangers need to up tempo'published at 19:37 British Summer Time 10 August 2021

    Rangers v Malmo (20:00)

It's been a bit sluggish from Rangers so far this season. Injuries and suspensions haven't helped, but they've been a lot slower in possession than they were at their best last term.

With a full house behind them tonight, will we see them step it up again?

  8. 'Tomasson comments add fuel to fire'published at 19:33 British Summer Time 10 August 2021

    Quote Message

Malmo players were deflated after Davis' goal last week. Hopefully it's a crucial one. Gerrard said he hoped to relight the fire at Ibrox, I think Jon Dahl Tomasson has added some fuel to that fire after his pre-match comments

  9. How'd you sleep?published at 19:30 British Summer Time 10 August 2021

    Rangers v Malmo (20:00) (1-2 agg)

Steven Gerrard urged his players to "light the fire" again and produce a better performance than they've managed in their last two games.

Some fans obviously wanted to play their part by giving the Malmo players an early wake-up call...

  10. Malmo won't sit backpublished at 19:27 British Summer Time 10 August 2021

    Rangers v Malmo (20:00) (agg 1-2)

If the noises coming from the Malmo camp are to be believed, we're in for an entertaining game. They're not coming to Ibrox to sit back and defend their lead. Manager Jon Dahl Tomasson has picked an unchanged side from last week, too.

"If we can keep the ball like we did in Malmo and create chances then we will have a good chance," said midfielder Anders Christiansen

"We can't defend for 90 minutes, if you do that it can be a long game. Our strength is to attack and try to score some goals."

There are big moments that are going to happen. Rangers just need to be patient. They don't need to go gung-ho. I expect Rangers to win this comfortably by two or three

  12. Reasons to be cheerfulpublished at 19:20 British Summer Time 10 August 2021

    Rangers v Malmo (20:00) (agg 1-2)

Steven Gerrard just doesn't do losing in European qualifiers. Well, until last week.

Malmo inflicted the first blot on the former Liverpool captain's CV in 20 qualifiers as Rangers boss.

Tonight is another big test in his managerial career. Will he overcome it?

  15. Davis rescues Rangerspublished at 19:08 British Summer Time 10 August 2021

    Rangers v Malmo (20:00) (agg 1-2)

Steven Davis is already a Rangers legend, but last week's goal could prove one of his most valuable one-off interventions.

The Northern Irishman swiped the ball home with 15 seconds left in Malmo last week to make Rangers' task tonight a lot less daunting.

  16. Biggest game in a decade?published at 19:03 British Summer Time 10 August 2021

    Rangers v Malmo (20:00) (agg 1-2)

It's easy to say now, because it's the next one, but this is arguably Rangers' biggest game for a decade.

They've made the journey back to the top in Scotland, but reaching the Champions League would be another level, especially financially.

Down in the tie. Defeat at the weekend. A full Ibrox for the first time in 17 months. Should be tasty!

  17. Midfield debatepublished at 18:59 British Summer Time 10 August 2021

    Rangers v Malmo (20:00) (agg 1-2)

Happy with that team, Rangers fans?

I think many will be pleased to see both Scott Arfield and Joe Aribo in the midfield three, given what they offer in attack after a couple of sluggish defeats.

    Agree?

  18. Balogun & Arfield startpublished at 18:46 British Summer Time 10 August 2021

Scott Wright starts, with John Lundstram also dropping to the bench. Allan McGregor replaces Jon McLaughlin in goal.

Substitutes: McCrorie, Hogarth, Bassey, Lundstram, Helander, Hagi, Itten, Simpson, Patterson, Kelly, Sakala.

  19. Here we go...published at 18:41 British Summer Time 10 August 2021

Something tells me this could be a BIG night.

A full Ibrox, a Champions League play-off berth at stake, a good Malmo side in town...stick with us for all the build-up and action.

    Team news is imminent...
