    FT: Athletic Bilbao 1-1 Barcelona

The free kick is clumped into the wall and that's the last action of an entertaining game and it's ended all square.

Just about a fair result as Athletic Bilbao grew weary in the last 20 minutes and Barcelona could have nicked it.

An injury to Gerard Pique and a red card for Eric Garcia leaves Ronald Koeman with a few defensive issues.

    Thanks for joining.

  2. RED CARDpublished at 90+2mins

    Athletic Bilbao 1-1 Barcelona

It's been a tough night for Eric Garcia and it's not ended well.

Nico Williams wriggles free and he's in on goal. Garcia tries a last-gasp lunge to clear it but he drags him down.

    Has to go.

Jordi Alba flashes a cross but Julen Agirrezabala claims before Nico Williams draws a save from Neto at the other end.

  4. CLOSE!published at 85 mins

    Athletic Bilbao 1-1 Barcelona

Memphis Depay pulls out to the left again and should be celebrating his second.

    Athletic Club 1-1 Barcelona

Memphis Depay wants a penalty as he challenges for a header in the box with Mikel Balenziaga.

If anything, the ball comes off Depay's hand and should be an Athletic Bilbao free kick.

Fair play to him for making his protest heard over the din inside San Mames though.

  7. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 75 mins

    Athletic Bilbao 1-1 Barcelona

In the run-up to the equaliser, Athletic Bilbao captain Iker Muniain was struggling and the home side were down to 10 men.

    Memphis Depay

There had been flickers and then suddenly Barcelona are level.

Sergio Busquets wins a 50/50 in the middle and Sergi Roberto releases Memphis Depay down the right.

He takes a touch, lets it bounce before unleashing an unstoppable half volley into the roof of the Athletic Bilbao net.

Depay's first for Barcelona - can they go on and win it now?

    Athletic Bilbao 1-0 Barcelona

A bit more like it from Barcelona.

Some neat passing in the middle finally escapes the Athletic Bilbao press and frees Memphis Depay.

He checks inside and delivers a dangerous-looking cross but there's no-one there and it drifts harmlessly out for a goal kick.

  12. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 64 mins

    Athletic Bilbao 1-0 Barcelona

Ronald Koeman isn't happy and he's made some changes.

Martin Braithwaite and Pedri are off, Sergi Roberto and Yusuf Demir trot on.

18-year-old Pedri has played a lot of football in the past 12 months (73 games in one season) so I reckon he deserves his holiday.

  13. Postpublished at 63 mins

    Another fine save from Neto.

Alex Berengeur again is threatening and he drives a thumping shot from the edge of the box. Neto gets good distance as he palms it away.

    Excellent from Neto.

Alex Berengeur storms through the midfield and slides a clever pass in behind the Barca defence.

Inaki Williams is favourite but Neto comes from nowhere to clear.

    Athletic Bilbao 1-0 Barcelona

12 corners for Athletic Bilbao now and they keep the pressure on.

Iker Muniain's delivery looks like it's heading for Inigo Martinez again, it's headed away and Ohian Sancet's follow-up shot is scrambled behind.

  16. Postpublished at 53 mins

    Athletic Bilbao 1-0 Barcelona

Sergino Dest looks for an instant response for Barcelona and gets forward for one of the first times this evening.

It looks like he's lost control but he manages to keep hold of it, wriggle into the area and get his shot away.

Unfortunately for Barca, it's straight at Julen Agirrezabala.

Athletic Bilbao have been creating chance after chance from open play but the opening goal comes from a corner.

Iker Muniain swings it over, Inigo Martinez comes racing across the Barca defence and glances a superb header past Neto.

    Fully deserved.

Julen Agirrezabala pulls off a tremendous save, it rebounds to Pedri who strikes at goal and it's cleared off the line.

    Frenetic.

  19. CLOSE!published at 46 mins

    Athletic Bilbao 0-0 Barcelona

The immediate answer... how is it not 1-0 to Athletic Bilbao?

Inaki Williams latches in behind Eric Garcia once again and beats Neto to the ball.

It bounces back for Alex Berengeur to strike at the empty net but Ronald Araujo appears from nowhere to pull off his second spectacular intervention of the evening.
