Oh wow, talk about a fast start.

QPR sweep the ball down the right and, with two passes, Andre Gray is in behind the defence down the flank.

Sam Johnstone comes out to the corner of his 18-yard box to try and narrow the angle, but Gray slides an early finish past him.

Just 45 seconds were on the clock!

The Baggies' unbeaten start is under threat.

Still awaiting the first shot on target in the Midlands as they approach the 15-minute mark.

Coventry midfielder Callum O'Hare has had a shot blocked after good work from Viktor Gyokeres.

The rebound hit the Sky Blues man and went behind for a goal kick.

Nathan Thompson has sent a long-range volley well wide for Posh.

    Coventry 0-0 Peterborough

The hosts have started the game on top, knocking it about confidently.

Viktor Gyokeres is Coventry's top scorer this season with five goals.

The Swede's strikes have been worth a Championship-high seven points for the Sky Blues this season.

Not bad after eight games, especially seeing as he only found the back of the net three times in the league last season.

West Brom boast one of the two remaining unbeaten records in the EFL.

The Baggies and Championship leaders Bournemouth are the two sides yet to suffer a league defeat this season.

It's been a solid start to life at The Hawthorns for Valerien Ismael, who joined from Barnsley this summer after Albion dropped out of the Premier League.

However, West Brom have drawn their past three games and entertain a QPR side who have lost back-to-back league matches.

A QPR side which had five changes overcame Everton on penalties in the League Cup during midweek.

Peterborough fans might have been expecting their side to be without striker Jonson Clarke-Harris for tonight's trip to Coventry.

The 27-year-old was this week handed a four-match ban and fined £5,300 by the Football Association over historical social media posts made when he was 18.

However, Posh have appealed against the sanction passed down to last season's top League One goalscorer, meaning he will be available for selection until the result of the appeal is decided.

Clarke-Harris, who has scored 35 goals in 57 matches since returning to Peterborough, has also enjoyed three spells with tonight's hosts Coventry, beginning his career there and rejoining the club from 2017-19, initially on loan, then permanently.

  12. Posh on the up?published at 19:38 British Summer Time 24 September 2021

    Coventry v Peterborough (19:45 BST)

Victory for Peterborough tonight would lift Posh up to the dizzy heights of 14th in the Championship.

Not bad for a side that began this week in the relegation zone despite last weekend's 3-0 win over Coventry's former landlords Birmingham City.

They moved out of the bottom three thanks to Derby's 12-point deduction for entering administration.

Tonight's result could be a foregone conclusion going on form so far this season.

Coventry City have won all four of their home league games this season, following their return to what is now known as the Coventry Building Society Arena.

Visitors Peterborough United, meanwhile, have lost on all four away trips since their return to the second tier.

Posh have shipped 13 goals in the process, with several of those coming in a 6-2 defeat at Sheffield United.

The Sky Blues are three unbeaten, while Peterborough ended a four-match losing streak with a 3-0 win over Birmingham last time out.

  14. Change at the top?published at 19:34 British Summer Time 24 September 2021

    How it stands

There could be new leaders of the Championship this evening.

If West Brom extend their unbeaten start with a win over QPR, the Baggies will replace Bournemouth at the summit.

Should Albion drop points, Coventry City could climb above the Cherries and into top spot with all three points against Peterborough.

The Sky Blues have not been top of the second tier since 17 August 2009, having started that campaign by winning their first two games.

There are two games to bring you in the second tier, along with updates from one match in League Two.
