And so another fine weeknight in the Championship comes to an end.

Aleksandar Mitrovic became the first player to enter into double figures as he scored a hat-trick for Fulham against Swansea.

That victory helps them keep pace at the top of the Championship as the season really begins to kick on with October now approaching.

We're back on Friday as the Championship returns for its final round of fixtures before the next international break.

Stoke City welcome leaders West Bromwich Albion and we'll be back to take you through that in just under 48 hours' time.

For now, thank you for joining us.

It's been a rare positive night for the East Midlands sides, with Derby moving into positive points after their win over Reading and Nottingham Forest moving out of the bottom three as Steve Cooper earned his first victory as boss.

Peterborough drop into the relegation zone despite a dogged goalless draw against Bournemouth.

Fulham's win against Swansea moves them into third in the Championship table tonight.

They move above Coventry, who slip down a place to fourth after their heavy defeat by Luton Town.

A big fixture follows for these two teams as they face each other in Coventry on Saturday.

    Luton 5-0 Coventry

Luton - who were without a win in six and were thrashed 5-0 at home by Birmingham last month - have dismantled a Coventry side who were unbeaten in four and only conceded six goals in their first nine league games.

You've got to love the Championship.

Elijah Adebayo and Harry Cornick scored two goals apiece for the excellent Hatters, with Luke Berry also on target.

    Luton 5-0 Coventry

An extremely loyal 1,032 Coventry fans have stuck with their side throughout, despite being utterly outplayed at Kenilworth Road.

The Sky Blues have actually had 58% possession but Luton have looked like scoring almost every time they've piled forward.

We're entering two minutes of stoppage time.

Nottingham Forest complete a cracking second half comeback to beat out-of-form Barnsley.

    Peterborough 0-0 Bournemouth

Bournemouth miss the chance to return to the top of the table but a goalless draw at Peterborough seems them move level on points with leaders West Brom.

It looks like Posh will drop into the bottom three but they shouldn't worry about that, because this has been a really strong defensive display for their first clean sheet of the season.

    Millwall 1-0 Bristol City

Jed Wallace's second half penalty gives Millwall all three points against Bristol City.

The visitors slip to 10th as it stands with a first loss in six games.

    Derby 1-0 Reading

Derby win to move onto one point in the Championship!

A week after they officially entered administration, Craig Forsyth headed in his first goal in more than five years to give Wayne Rooney a thoroughly deserved victory.

As it stands the Rams will be seven points from safety, having been deducted 12 points.

    Millwall 1-0 Bristol City

Four minutes added on at The Den.

Four minutes for Bristol City to find a leveller against Millwall.

The hosts come close to killing the game off through Billy Mitchell who forces a diving save from visiting keeper Daniel Bentley.

  12. CLOSE!published at 21:35 British Summer Time 29 September 2021

    Peterborough 0-0 Bournemouth

Dominic Solanke finds himself half-a-yard of space from a Bournemouth corner but heads over.

That goes down as a more than decent opportunity.

  13. INJURY TIMEpublished at 21:34 British Summer Time 29 September 2021

    Peterborough 0-0 Bournemouth

Bournemouth have six minutes of stoppage time to find a winner which would put them back on top of the Championship.

Dominic Solanke has had a few sniffs but they've lacked clear-cut chances.

    Derby 1-0 Reading

Ooh... squeaky bum time at Pride Park.

Josh Laurent gets to Ovie Ejaria's near-post cross but heads agonisingly wide.

They're into four minutes of added time.

    Peterborough 0-0 Bournemouth

Peterborough put in a similarly dogged performance at home against West Brom last month, when they cruelly came unstuck in the 94th minute.

Psychologically it would be massive if they could hold on here against a very strong Bournemouth side.

GOAL: Barnsley 1-3 Nottm Forestpublished at 21:30 British Summer Time 29 September 2021

    Lewis Grabban (82 mins)

    Game over.

Some shambolic defending from the hosts, who have utterly capitulated in this second half, sees Lewis Grabban tap in at the back post.

Barnsley are all over the place. Nottingham Forest look set for victory and a place above the Tykes in the table.

    Fulham 3-1 Swansea

Korey Smith puts a speculative cross into the Fulham area but it's headed clear by former Swansea defender Alfie Mawson.

Ethan Laird's shot is blocked soon after as the Swans keep pressing.

    Derby 1-0 Reading

I'm not sure Reading have done enough in this second half to nick an equaliser.

Wayne Rooney will be very pleased with his Derby side's display, but it'll mean nothing if they can't see out the last four minutes plus stoppages.

Standing ovations at Kenilworth Road as Harry Cornick and Elijah Adebayo - who have scored two goals apiece - are replaced by Carlos Mendes Gomes and Cameron Jerome.

A well earned rest for the duo, with Luton having long secured the points.

    Barnsley 1-2 Nottm Forest

Nottingham Forest are well on top now thanks to their quickfire double against Barnsley.

They press for a third, once again through Philip Zinckernagel, who sees his effort saved by Brad Collins.
