A win for Manchester United then. Reading started off brightly but just couldn't find a way back into the game in the second half.

It is a tough one for Reading. If Reading's goal had been allowed it would have changed the game, it would have been 1-1 and who knows? Harsh for Reading but it is what it is in the women's game.

All over! Marc Skinner has a win in his first competitive game in charge and the majority of the 2,111 fans in the stadium give a huge roar at full-time.

United are off to a winning start.

Jackie Groenen is running the show in midfield. She plays a one-two with Hannah Blundell, turns inside and megs a defender, and is brought down for a free-kick.

Three minutes to go.

The home fans are singing "we love you Jackie, we do." They have had plenty to sing about tonight.

United are so comfortable in this game now. Jackie Groenen tries to find the bottom right corner with a curling effort but she doesn't catch it right.

Emma Harries tries to curl it into the middle for a team-mate but her cross ends up floating on top of the netting.

Mary Earps was scrambling a little!

Here the striker is again but this time her effort flies wide of the right post.

It was a decent, curling strike but Grace Moloney had it covered.

Martha Thomas is offside as she races through one-on-one. Most of the crowd know it but there's a few kids screaming before she rolls it wide as the flag eventually goes up.

Time is running out for Reading. Will Deanne Rose get on the pitch?

What a chance! Martha Thomas picks it up at the near post but she glances it across goal, missing the far post by inches.

United are pushing for a third. They have back-to-back corners, with the first cleared desperately off the backline.

Eventually, Reading can come away down the right but Ona Batlle races back to put another impressive tackle in. She's been solid.

Another change for Manchester United.

Debutant Vilde Boe Risa, who has been impressive, is replaced by Alessia Russo.

Both players receive a warm applause from the home fans.

A dangerous cross from the right is contested by both Gae-ul Jeon and Amalie Eikeland - the former's attempted overhead kick appearing to put Eikeland off.

In the end, the ball runs past both.

Manchester United took a bit of time to get into this game but they have really found their feet and grown.

A half-chance for Gae-ul Jeon straight away but she's stretching to reach the header in the box.

Reading are enjoying a rare spell of possession now.

Erling L: what a shot from Batlle. That was a brilliant goal!

Reading skipper Natasha Harding is off. On comes Gae-ul Jeon.

It comes fizzing across the six-yard area from United but Leah Galton is too far ahead and Martha Thomas is slightly behind.

A touch from either of them and it was probably in.
