    Peterborough 0-0 West Brom

Jack Marriott disposseses Kyle Bartley on the edge of the West Brom box and tries to curl one ambitiously....

Not to be on this occasion and an easy gather for Sam Johnstone.

Not a classic so far this one I'm afraid.

Don't think many will have stayed tuned in after switching it over at the end of Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves on BBC One earlier.

"LOCKSLEY! I'M GONNA CUT YOUR HEART OUT WITH A SPOON!"

    Sorry...

  3. Postpublished at 36 mins

    Peterborough 0-0 West Brom

Poor set piece free-kick from Alex Mowatt for West Brom fails to reach its intended target and after some scrappy defending, it goes harmlessly behind for a goal kick.

  4. Postpublished at 35 mins

    Peterborough 0-0 West Brom

Bit more energy and industry from Peterborough as they start winning 50/50 challenges.

Sammie Szmodics nearly plays Jonson Clarke-Harris through on goal but West Brom are back in time to cover.

  5. Postpublished at 31 mins

    Peterborough 0-0 West Brom

Half an opening for West Brom as Grady Diangana picks the ball up in the Peterborough box and tries to loft it back central for Karlan Grant.

Doesn't find him and Christy Pym comes out to claim it safely.

  6. Postpublished at 29 mins

    Peterborough 0-0 West Brom

Just the one shot on target so far from both sides.

Karlan Grant's effort for West Brom from inside the area the closest anyone's come.

    Peterborough 0-0 West Brom

    This game needs a goal.

There - I've said it as early as 25 minutes in.

Lots of scrappy passages of play and neither side really settling into a pattern of play.

  8. Postpublished at 22 mins

    Peterborough 0-0 West Brom

Darnell Furlong has been off the field for a couple of minutes to get a knock to his nose treated.

Everything seems to be in working order now and that allows the Baggies to return to full strength without any damage done.

  9. Postpublished at 19 mins

    Peterborough 0-0 West Brom

Sam Johnstone is proving to be very alert sweeping off his line to cut out any attempted through balls from Peterborough.

His ability to turn defence into attack quickly sets up West Brom's first decent move as Karlan Grant combines well with Matty Phillips and has a low shot parried away from goal from Christy Pym.

    Peterborough 0-0 West Brom

Actually, it appears West Brom have been bringing their own towels to away matches but Blackburn tried to "dispose" of them during the game so the claim goes.

    Bizarre.

Meanwhile, Alex Mowatt tries to whip in a free-kick for West Brom from just outside the box but Peterborough head it behind for a corner.

  11. Postpublished at 11 mins

    Peterborough 0-0 West Brom

Lots of chat pre-match in this one about long throw-ins and towels it seems.

Darnell Furlong's had some notable success at home with being able to dry off the ball before taking one but there were no such home comforts for them at Blackburn last week.

Seems to be the same story here as Conor Townsend takes one on the left touchline with not a towel in sight to assist the left-back.

  12. YELLOW CARDpublished at 8 mins

    Peterborough 0-0 West Brom

Early booking here for Peterborough midfielder Ollie Norburn as he catches Grady Diangana trying to break clear.

Will be a test for him now for the remaining 80 minutes.

  13. Postpublished at 5 mins

    Peterborough 0-0 West Brom

Darnell Furlong involved once again coming forward for West Brom in an advanced position.

Takes a rather ambitious attempt on the volley from deep back that slides well wide of Christy Pym's goal.

  14. Postpublished at 5 mins

    Peterborough 0-0 West Brom

Encouragement for Peterborough as they find some joy down their own right side.

Joe Ward gets the chance to overlap into the West Brom box and put a ball in but Kyle Bartley makes the block and the following corner is also dealt with by the visitors.

  15. Postpublished at 3 mins

    Peterborough 0-0 West Brom

West Brom making early inroads down the Peterborough right and Darnell Furlong finds himself inside the Posh penalty box.

Tries to take a shot at an acute angle but it hits the side-netting.

  16. KICK-OFFpublished at 1 min

    Peterborough 0-0 West Brom

Right then - after all the pre-match pleasantries, we're off.

Peterborough in blue, West Brom in their black away strip.

James Linington, decked in purple along with his assistants, is the referee for this one.

  17. Postpublished at 20:03 British Summer Time 28 August 2021

There's a minute's applause before kick-off in tribute to both Peter McNamee and Robbie Cooke.

Former Posh midfielder McNamee passed away this week aged 86. Robbie Cooke was also a former coach and player for the hosts.

He died earlier this month, aged 64.
