Oh dear - Derby have done themselves no favours at all there!

Bournemouth are level within just six minutes.

Kelle Roos gets himself in a real tangle trying to play out from the back and Bournemouth's high press catches him out.

Dominic Solanke steals the ball first, then Ryan Christie sees his shot on goal saved by Roos.

It breaks to Jaidon Anthony whose first effort is cleared off the line by Curtis Davies but he is not denied on the rebound as he fires it home at the second attempt.

Jason Knight seems to be everywhere for Derby and he pops up with the first goal!

Tom Lawrence's inswinging corner from the right is met by the Republic of Ireland international with a free header for his second goal of the season.

It appears Leif Davis lost his man in the area.

Recent history certainly offers Derby County plenty of encouragement for their game against second-placed Bournemouth.

They have not lost to the Cherries since a 3-2 defeat at their old Baseball Ground home on 30 January 1985.

The two clubs have not seen a lot of each other since then and today's fixture is only the 10th meeting between the two sides since that game.

Derby took four points against Bournemouth last season, with Krystian Bielik scoring the only goal at Pride Park in January when Wayne Rooney achieved his first win since being confirmed as permanent Rams boss.

  20. Cherries 'oozing class' under Parkerpublished at 11:53 Greenwich Mean Time 21 November 2021

Forty points from 51 to this point really is a remarkable haul, and it’s easily overlooked how thin a squad Scott Parker had to play with in the opening weeks of the campaign.

Anyone who was fit, played, and they had loan left-back Leif Davis making his debut on the right wing at one point.

Now though, the squad oozes class. The additions of Gary Cahill and Ryan Christie in particular, the blossoming of Dominic Solanke and Philip Billing, and the pleasant surprises of previously-untried youngsters Jaidon Anthony and Jordan Zemura.

Parker’s intense pressing style is physically demanding, and the international breaks have come at good times.

There’s no such luxury again until March now, so this next couple of months is going to ask a new set of questions for Parker’s men, physically and mentally, as well as how deep that squad really goes.
