Denmark had been in fine form before their loss to Germany in their opener.

Lars Sondergaard's team had won for of their past five matches going into the tournament, including friendly wins over Brazil and Austria.

Finland have had a shocker of a run prior to the Euros.

The side ranked 29th in the world have won just one game in 2022 - a 6-0 win over Georgia in April.

Including their Spain defeat, they have lost seven of their past 10.

  10. Finland thrashed by Spain last time outpublished at 16:14 British Summer Time 12 July 2022

    Spain 4-1 Finland

Euro 2022 favourites Spain recovered from conceding a goal inside the opening minute to overpower Finland in their tournament opener in Milton Keynes.

Finland, ranked 29th in the world, stunned Spain by scoring after only 50 seconds when Linda Sallstrom collected Anna Westerlund's long pass forward and fired a shot which went in off the inside of the post.

It could have been 2-0 11 minutes later but Adelina Engman dragged a shot wide before Spain took control.

They dominated possession and, moments after having a goal disallowed, equalised as captain Irene Paredes headed in following a corner taken by the excellent Mariona Caldentey.

Another headed goal saw Spain take the lead with Aitana Bonmati getting on the end of Maria Pilar Leon's delivery.

Lucia Garcia settled Spain's nerves in the 75th minute with a third headed goal, before Caldentey converted an injury-time penalty to ensure her country made a winning start.

  11. Denmark humbled by Germany in openerpublished at 16:11 British Summer Time 12 July 2022

    Germany 4-0 Denmark

Eight-time European champions Germany got their Euro 2022 campaign off to a flying start by hammering Euro 2017 runners-up Denmark at a sold-out Brentford Community Stadium.

Goals from Bayern Munich team-mates Lina Magull and Lea Schuller put the Germans on course for victory in the first heavyweight showdown of the tournament.

Felicitas Rauch twice struck the bar in the space of three first-half minutes for Germany before the lively Magull fired past keeper Lene Christensen for her 20th international goal.

Schuller headed the second from a corner and Wolfsburg's Lena Lattwein made it 3-0. Germany added a fourth through substitute Alexandra Popp.

On a disastrous night for Denmark, they finished with 10 players after substitute Kathrine Kuhl was sent off for a second yellow card in the dying moments.

Not too many surprises from those line-ups then. Remember Denmark are without Katherine Kuhl. The substitute was sent off in their last match with Germany.

Speaking of, here's how these two sides fared last time out...
