Coventry well on top right now.

The hosts eventually win a corner but Cedric Kipre blasts it away.

    Spot of housekeeping.

The second Albion goal which I initially attributed to Kyle Bartley and then gave to Cedric Kipre has now been changed to a Kyle McFadzean own goal.

I mean, it shouldn't have stood anyway as it hit Kipre's hand before going in off McFadzean but here we are.

  4. KICK-OFFpublished at 46 mins

    Coventry 0-2 West Brom

Coventry sub for the start of the second half.

    Friday result: Fulham 1-1 Bournemouth

Tosin Adarabioyo's first goal for Fulham rescued a point for the Championship leaders against second-placed Bournemouth on Friday.

The defender glanced home substitute Tom Cairney's cross with six minutes remaining to keep his team one point clear in first place.

Dominic Solanke had scored his 17th goal of the season six seconds into the second half to put Bournemouth ahead.

But they could not hang on to give manager Scott Parker a winning return to his old club.

To go in 2-0 up at half-time in a local derby is fantastic. West Brom have had criticism for not scoring goals in recent times but they have scored two today.

The manager will be well pleased and they will be full of confidence in the dressing room.

But he will be saying this is not over yet as this Coventry side came from 2-0 down at Bournemouth last weekend so there is still a lot of hard work to do.

  8. HALF-TIMEpublished at 13:20 Greenwich Mean Time 4 December 2021

    Coventry 0-2 West Brom

Albion in control at the break.

Karlan Grant gave the visitors the lead with a cool finish and Cedric Kipre made it 2-0 before the break with a goal from a long throw that went in off his hand.

The Sky Blues have it all to do but did come back from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 with Bournemouth last week.

Some more drama to end the half.

Albion win a corner and Karlan Grant's fierce strike is blocked by the home defence.

They spring an attack and Matt Godden can't quite find the right pass as the Sky Blues pile forward.

Albion wouldn't have expected to be 2-0 up at half-time but this is a really good response to the recent criticism they have received.

This is the best they have played for weeks.

GOAL: Coventry 0-2 West Brompublished at 13:15 Greenwich Mean Time 4 December 2021

    Cedric Kipre (42 mins)

    Ok, NOW it's 2-0.

It's controversial it has to be said.

Darnell Furlong's cross causes major consternation and is eventually smuggled in from close range by Cedric Kipre.

However, it flicked the hand of Kipre before going in off a Sky Blues defender.

No VAR in the Championship. Goal stands.

    Coventry 0-1 West Brom

    Oh, it should be 2-0!

Darnell Furlong's long throw causes major panic and lands at the feet of Callum Robinson six yards out.

The Republic of Ireland international can't keep his effort down there and it flies over.

  13. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 39 mins

    Really open now.

Moments after Coventry almost level Albion are in down the other end after a mistake by the hosts but the ball just wont quite roll for a shot at goal in the area.

  15. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 36 mins

    Coventry 0-1 West Brom

So close to a leveller for the hosts!

Todd Kane smashes a low cross in that Kyle Bartley deflects on to his own post.

  16. YELLOW CARDpublished at 35 mins

Alex Mowatt is the first man in the book today.

The Albion midfielder can have few complaints as he scythes down Viktor Gyokeres over on the touchline.

  17. Postpublished at 34 mins

    Coventry 0-1 West Brom

Veteran Coventry centre-back Kyle McFadzean shows wonderful feet to keep the ball in play and then hit a well angled long ball up the forwards.

There's a chance for a break away but Callum O'Hare's pass is loose and Albion get it away again.

  18. Postpublished at 32 mins

    Coventry 0-1 West Brom

Coventry go on a rare foray and Cedric Kipre has to be alert to keep it away from Callum O'Hare.

The corner is played short and eventually it's overhit.

    Goalkick to Albion.

Albion are playing with confidence after taking the lead. That goal has done wonders for them.

    Coventry 0-1 West Brom

Conor Townsend swings a deep cross over from the left and right wing-back Darnell Furlong is the man on the end of it for Albion.

His low effort is on target but lacks real power and Simon Moore keeps it out comfortably in the home goal.
