Much greater sense of urgency from both sides in this half and you sense the chances will come. Jack Grealish and Kevin De Bruyne have delivered two inviting crosses with no-one on the end of them.

We have a lively game now.

Agree with George at 13:24. You have to press City. Liverpool have done it and Arsenal did it the other week and should have won.

Everyone knows Lukaku doesn't perform in the big games. Why Man United got rid of him. Serie A is no Premier league.

    Man City 0-0 Chelsea

John Stones finds Kyle Walker, who lays it off to Raheem Sterling. He holds the ball up on the edge of the box, teases N'Golo Kante then goes to ground. There's strong penalty appeals but the flag is up. Walker was offside at the beginning of the move. That seemed to take an age?

  9. 'Game coming to life'published at 13:42 Greenwich Mean Time 15 January 2022

    Man City 0-0 Chelsea

    Leon Osman
Former Everton midfielder on BBC Radio 5 Live

The tempo has gone up a bit and Man City are certainly moving the ball quicker, their runs in behind are more penetrating and have more pace to them.

It's already seemingly more lively than the first half, this game seems to be coming to life.

Jack Grealish's cross manages to beat everyone in the box. Phil Foden was closest.

Maybe Shamshad (below) is onto something. Would Gabriel Jesus been on the end of that?

Shamshad: Sarr is the weak link in Chelsea. Replace Grealish with Jesus. Move Sterling to centre with Foden left and Jesus right! You can find a way Pep!

  12. Postpublished at 49 mins

    Man City 0-0 Chelsea

    It's a bit end-to-end.

Phil Foden loses it in the box at one end before Kyle Walker sprints back to stop Hakim Ziyeh breaking on the left.

Marcos Alonso then slices it well wide of the left post.

  13. GREAT SAVE!published at 47 mins

    Man City 0-0 Chelsea

    That's the chance for Chelsea!

Mateo Kovacic plays in Romelu Lukaku. He tries to curl it past Ederson but the City goalkeeper dives to palm it away to his right.

The rebound is then blasted over. Big save.

  14. CLOSE!published at 47 mins

    Man City 0-0 Chelsea

Kevin de Bruyne skips away from Cesar Azpilicueta and slides in a brilliant cross.

Raheem Sterling races to get on the end of it but goes down under pressure. There's calls for a penalty, though notably not from Sterling, and a quick VAR check dismisses it.

Looking at Lukaku and Grealish it doesn't seem you get a lot of value for £100m these days...

    Kevin, Leicester

Ziyech and Pulisic don't bring anything to the team. Without Mount and Werner, this will be a long afternoon for Chelsea especially with Lukaku out of sorts.
