Shows what fans know about the rules. It is admittedly unlucky that the goal was disallowed as it was- but the player who was offside scored the goal- that’s offside. Doesn’t matter if it was already going in- it’s offside. How clear does it need to be?

    West Ham 2-3 Leeds

Ilan Meslier makes a great double save to deny Vladimir Coufal and then Jarrod Bowen, Andriy Yarmolenko heads in but the flag is up for offside.

Leeds fans would have been fuming had that been given, after VAR ruled out their fourth for a questionable offside call.

Liz Tray: I don't understand why that Leeds goal isn't a goal. The ball is in the net virtually, so what if it hits an offside player? It's going in. His presence has no material effect on anything. You can't apply offside like that.

Enough is enough, VAR is supposed to be removing clear and obvious errors! Disallowed goal for Leeds is criminal!

Takumi Minamino missed a sitter against Arsenal and you wondered how he would react. Roberto Firmino laid it on a plate for Minamino, who stroked it into the bottom corner, and that is game, set and match for Liverpool.

  13. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 15:38 Greenwich Mean Time 16 January 2022

    Liverpool 3-0 Brentford

Roberto Firmino has done his job. He's quickly hooked to avoid injury - especially with Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane unavailable for Liverpool - and on comes James Milner.

    Takumi Minamino (77 mins)

    It's a shambles from Brentford.

Roberto Firmino nips in to take it off Christian Norgaard after a poor pass from Alvaro Fernandez.

The Brazilian plays a one-two with Takumi Minamino around the keeper and he pokes it into an empty net.

That might have been his first touch!

GOAL - West Ham 2-4 Leedspublished at 15:33 Greenwich Mean Time 16 January 2022

    Mateusz Klich

The three points are in the bag!

Just how good is Raphinha? Leeds were defending but had the Brazilian lurking as an outlet and he does the job by taking the ball down the flank, skipping one challenge to get into the box before cutting back to Mateusz Klich, who smashes home.

Wait, VAR is looking at a possible offside.
