Been a while since I banged on about how foggy it is at Oakwell tonight.

Think this photo shows it fairly well.

It must be pretty tricky for the players, especially when the ball is up in the air.

Dear me.

West Brom win a free-kick in a decent position on the right hand side.

Darnell Furlong smashes it into the West Brom fans behind that goal like he's trying to kick a conversion (either code).

Better from Barnsley.

They get the ball moving and attack through the middle, with Callum Brittain eventually winning a corner.

The set piece is cleared at the front post and then when it is reycled it's cleared away at the near post once more.

West Brom skipper Jake Livermore is the first man in the book.

He leaves his foot in on Carlton Morris about a metre from the referee and he doesn't like it. Yellow card.

The first chance of the second half goes to the same man who came closest to breaking the deadlock in the first.

West Brom centre-back Cedric Kipre, who hit the post inside the first five minutes, sees a low shot whistle just past the post after his initial shot was charged down.

West Brom get us back under way.

It probably hasn't escaped your attention that a large number of games across the Premier League and EFL have been postponed this weekend because of Covid-19 cases.

As it stands, five games are off in the Premier League and 19 are postponed across the three divisions of the EFL.

Turns out the time added on amounted to five seconds.

That sort of sums up the first half I guess.

Promotion-chasing Albion have had the better of it and nearly took an early lead when defender Cedric Kipre saw his header come back off the post.

Barnsley have competed well but it's not hard to see how they only have 15 goals from 22 games this season.

Into time added on now, with the visitors pressing for the opener.

Former Barnsley boss Valerien Ismael has had a mixed start to life as West Brom boss.

They're third in the table and a win tonight would see them go level on points with second-placed Bournemouth, but a lot of fans aren't overly pleased with the style of play.

His current side have had the better of things so far but Brad Collins hasn't had to make a save in the home goal.

Karlan Grant streaks away down the Albion right and hits a low cross in that home defender Mads Anderson deflects into the air, and goalkeeper Brad Collins deals with.

Grant's been on good form lately for the Baggies, with nine goals so far this season.

Barnsley win a free-kick 30 yards out and Josh Benson fancies his chances.

It's a decent shot to be fair and Sam Johnstone has to just palm it over the bar.

The visitors deal with the corner.

West Brom are in.

Conor Townsend cuts it back for Jordan Hugill to tap in but Callum Brittain does brilliantly to get in the way.

Good chance for the striker, who has just one goal in 18 appearances for the Baggies.

This is the man charged with trying to keep Barnsley in the second tier.

Poya Asbaghi left his job as Sweden Under-21 manager to take over at Oakwell last month.

They're eight points adrift of safety at the moment with just two wins all season.

His side have competed well so far in this but they've offered very little going forward.

Carlton Morris gives the ball away cheaply for the home side on the halfway line and Darnell Furlong almost plays Callum Robinson in with a ball through the Barnsley defence.

Just too much on it.

West Brom win a corner down their left.

It's played short and the home side scramble it away.

The Baggies have got a very tall side and I'd imagine Valerien Ismael will not be happy at that wasted opportunity to get the ball in the box.

Certainly a physical match at the moment.

It's a bit quiet at Oakwell. You can understand fans being a little subdued given the side has just 15 goals in 22 league games this season.

Conor Townsend takes about 30 seconds over a throw in for the visitors, plays a one-two and runs the ball straight off the pitch.

Maybe one to work on.

A nice West Brom attack ends with Darnell Furlong swinging a cross over the waiting heads in the middle and the hosts clear.

Victory for Albion tonight will move them level on points with second-placed Bournemouth.
