    Reading 1-0 Derby

Just under five minutes until the break.

Seems that the free-kick that started the move for that goal was not taken where it should've been by Reading.

The foul was committed inside Reading's own penalty area, but Luke Southwood took it from well outside of the box without any correction from the officials.

A fair few yellow cards being dished out in this one.

A tasty affair as Mahlon Romeo goes into the book for a late challenge on James Brophy who himself sees yellow for a lunge on Ronan Curtis later on.

Still goalless between Cambridge and Portsmouth with about five minutes to go until half-time.

GOAL: Reading 1-0 Derbypublished at 15:37 Greenwich Mean Time 3 January 2022

    Junior Hoilett (37 mins)

    Pick this one out!

Fantastic unstoppable strike from Junior Hoilett breaks the deadlock in this match and gives Reading the lead.

Long punt forward down the left from Luke Southwood, trademark win of an aerial battle for the flick on by Andy Carroll and then Hoilett shifts it on to his right from about 25 yards out and curls it into the top right corner far from the reach of Ryan Allsop.

Home fans very much enjoyed that and so would've many neutrals I'd guess.
