    Lorient 0-0 PSG

Shot going out for a throw-in klaxon!

Dango Ouattara races clear on the counter for Lorient but his shot from a tight angle on the left of the area is dragged horribly wide.

The pace on the break by Lorient is troubling PSG early on, though.

    Lorient 0-0 PSG

Angel di Maria is looking dangerous early on as he goes on a mazy run into the right side of the area, but Julien Laporte gets in a block to deflect the ball away for a corner.

    Good defending.

  3. CLOSE!published at 2 min

    Lorient 0-0 PSG

PSG inches away from taking the lead!

Idrissa Gueye plays in a searching low cross from the left towards the near post, Mauro Icardi gets on the end of it but his stabbed finish goes just wide.

    Ominous signs for Lorient....

Ok, the smoke has cleared and we are under way!

It's all looking pretty grim for Lorient.

They are on their worst ever Ligue 1 run of seven straight defeats, with an eighth in the French Cup last weekend. They have lost nine out of 10 games in all to slump to second-bottom in the table.

They did, however, beat PSG 3-2 in the same fixture last season back in January.

Well, not sure we are going to kick-off on time here.

A number of flares have been let off in the stands and now the centre of the pitch is enveloped in a white smoke.

To cap it all off PSG are playing in white.

    Won't be long...

PSG are without two-thirds of their three amigos with Neymar still nursing an ankle knock and Kylian Mbappe suspended.

Lionel Messi is fit though and he returns to the side to form an all-Argentine frontline alongside Mauro Icardi and Angel di Maria.

PSG XI: Navas, Nuno Mendes, Kimpembe, Marquinhos, Hakimi, Gueye, Herrera, Wijnaldum, Di Maria, Icardi, Messi.

Subs: Donnarumma, Ramos, Diallo, Bitshiabu, Bitumazala, Danilo, Simons, Michut, Yansane.

Lorient: Nardi, Mendes, Laporte, Jenz, Le Goff, Abergel, Monconduit, Le Fee, Ouattara, Lauriente, Moffi.

Subs: Boisgard, Dreyer, Grbic, Hergault, Igor Silva, Le Bris, Mouazan, Petrot, Soumano.

  8. Title done and dusted?published at 19:55 Greenwich Mean Time 22 December 2021

After surprisingly missing out to Lille last year PSG already look well set for an eighth Ligue 1 title in 10 years.

Mauricio Pochettino's side are unbeaten since October and and can open up a pretty emphatic 16-point lead at the top going into the Christmas break.

It would take a Devon Loch-style collapse for them to lose it now (kids, ask your parents).
