Nearly a spectacular eighth as Lauren Wade uncorks another one of those heat-seeking left-footers. This time it cracks the crossbar, though.

The hosts have been poor, which is probably being polite, but Northern Ireland have been brilliant in every department.

I know it's North Macedonia, so let's not get carried away, but I can't remember as clinical a performance under Kenny Shiels as we have witnessed in that first-half - it could have been 10 if it wasn't for the crossbar and a stunning goalline clearance.

A record win is on the cards and there could be a history-making afternoon for Rachel Furness, who is now only one behind David Healy's famed tally of 36 international goals for Northern Ireland.

North Macedonia v Northern Ireland (12:00 GMT)

We need a breather after that first half!

But what about some half-time reading?

Megan Bell's last game for Northern Ireland was at the Pinatar Cup in 2020, just days before the start of the pandemic.

But the Rangers midfielder, 20, says her extended injury lay-off has given her a newfound appreciation for football and is determined to make up for lost time as she sets out to regain her place in Kenny Shiels' squad ahead of next summer's Euros.

Bell spoke to Andy Gray before today's game in Skopje.

Rebecca McKenna quickly doubled the lead before Simone Magill and Furness made it four.

Lauren Wade scored the pick of the bunch before Kirsty McGuinness notched a sixth. Magill's second has put NI in seventh heaven at the break.
