Should Scotland be drawn against the Czech Republic it would be a rematch of Steve Clarke's side's Euro 2021 opener.

Patrick Schick famously scored an audacious goal from just inside Scotland's half as they cruised to a comfortable 2-0 win.

Scotland's form in the post-Euro international breaks will give them encouragement that they could exact some revenge against the Czechs however.

North Macedonia seem to be every seeded nation's ideal opponent but they are not to be taken lightly. A 2-1 victory in the group stages against a strong German side won't go unnoticed by any of the awaiting nation's coaching teams.

A late winner from Napoli's Elif Elmas secured a famous victory — in Germany too nonetheless.

The old adage of 'there are no easy games in football' is certainly the case in this play-off round.

A new opponent for Scotland in competitive football should they be drawn together, Turkey finished runners-up to the Netherlands in their group by only two points.

Burak Yılmaz has 30 goals for his national side and Hakan Çalhanoğlu is one of the world's most exciting players when standing over a dead ball.

A 4-2 result in the opening stages of qualification — with a Yilmaz hat-trick thrown in the mix too — shows they are not to be underestimated.
