    Egypt goalkeeper Mohamed 'Gabaski' Abougabal does not come off the pitch easily. In the quarter-final win over Morocco it took the Egypt coaching staff several attempts to persuade him to be replaced after he injured his groin.

    The Pharaohs' first-choice keeper Mohamed El Shenaway is still with the team in Cameroon but was ruled out of the last two games after his injury in the last 16 game against Ivory Coast.
