Seems that the number of Egypt fans here in the Olembe Stadium has grown since the start of this final. There is now another block of red high up in the stands making themselves heard with some loud drums and chanting.

Another yellow card and there's no questioning this one as Abdou Diallo is booked for a clear foul on Mo Salah.

It looks like Egypt are readying a couple of changes.

Gabaski is alert as Sadio Mane and Famara Diedhiou go for a dangerous cross from the right. A good challenge prevents Diedhiou getting a shot off before Gabaski gathers at Mane's feet as the striker tries to dribble the loose ball round him.

Idrissa Gueye looks keen to make amends for that poor free kick and he collects a pass inside the box before letting fly with a shot that takes a slight deflection but Gabaski has it covered.

... Idrissa Gueye takes the free kick but thwacks it way over the bar. I think I could have taken a better one. Disappointing.

Sadio Mane drives through the middle and is fouled by Hamdi Fathi, who has already been booked.

Senegal have a free kick in a decent position...

Seems to be going to plan for both sides - Senegal looking to create chances with passing football and attacking down the flanks while Egypt happy to disrupt and try and get the ball to Salah to create something.

What worried me, after the penalty miss I hope that will not affect Sadio Mane's mind and his game as well because he is so important for the team. Senegal need to take their chances.

Well I wonder what Mo Salah was saying to his goalkeeper here...!

He may not have scored yet but his insider info on his Liverpool team-mate Sadio Mane may have had some influence at the other end of the pitch.

Nil nil in an Egyptian game at half time feels like something we have seen before.

The half time whistle is blown. Senegal are on top but Egypt are defending well.

Cheikhou Kouyate drives an effort from distance just wide as Senegal try to pinch one before the break.

The stadium announcer rather enthusiastically shouts that there's two minutes of time added on.

No goals yet in a game that has been shaped so far by two great saves by both goalkeepers.

This referee must love the colour yellow as he flashes a fourth yellow card of the game, this time he's not happy with Kalidou Koulibaly's attempt to win the ball in a 50-50 with Mostafa Mohamed.

Superb save by Edouard Mendy!

Mohamed Salah gets into the box and he shapes to cross but instead tries to sneak one inside the near post with a snapshot but the Chelsea goalkeeper is alert to the danger and pushes the effort over the bar.

First real save by Mendy but it is a big one.

I do think Senegal can play a higher press, a more aggressive one and ask Egypt to play with the ball under more pressure, closer to their penalty area.

From one such free kick Famara Diedhiou manages to get his head onto a delivery into the box but his header is straight at Gabaski.
