The neutrals in this stadium seem to have mixed emotions towards Mo Salah - they cheer and are up on their feet when he is on the ball and weaving past players - but then relieved when he doesn't score! They want to see the magic but maybe not the result.

He produces great footwork to weave his way past tackles inside the Senegal box before getting a shot off on goal but it lacks power.

Oooh, important intervention by an Egypt player as Sadio Mane plays a great ball in from the left with Famara Diedhiou racing in ready to pounce but he is just beaten to the ball.

The build up was pretty much all about Sadio Mane versus Mohamed Salah but it is Gabaski who has taken on the starring role so far with this penalty save.

Couldn't have asked for a better delivery.

Ismaila Sarr again manages to get a dangerous ball across the face of goal from the right and Sadio Mane is there waiting unmarked inside the box but he can't connect as the ball zips on by.

These opening 20 minutes have flown by even though it feels like this final has yet to really take off. Senegal have been on top but yet to find a breakthrough.

Nampalys Mendy, whose club side Leicester saw one trophy chance ended as they were beaten in the FA Cup earlier this afternoon, is the first player booked for a foul.

Sadio Mane and Saliou Ciss combine on the left - I expect to be writing this a lot in this game - with the former trying to find the latter on the overlap but Egypt have doubled up down that flank and cut out the danger.

Senegal come forward again and Ismaila Sarr has the ball on the edge of the box with his back to goal. He turns a sweeps a low effort at goal but it lacks power and is comfortable for Gabaski.
