It was a day to forget for Hull who never really got going in front of their home fans.

Stoke set the tone early and didn't have to get out of second gear to coast to victory.

It means that the Tigers sit precariously four points outside the relegation zone and it doesn't get any easier for them, with Blackburn, Bournemouth and Swansea on the horizon.

Grant McCann won't need telling that they need to start picking up points again soon to avoid a real relegation scrap come May.

Stoke's first win in four sees them rise back firmly into the playoff shake-up.

They have a couple of games in hand on Huddersfield directly above them and face the Terriers later this month.

Their next set of games could well make a big difference to their season as they play teams around the Championship summit including Fulham next, followed by Coventry who are just below them.

    FT: Hull 0-2 Stoke

It was as straightforward a win as Stoke could have hoped for really.

They were the better side throughout and it was a very comfortable afternoon for the Potters.

Michael O'Neill's side move up to eighth, four points outside the playoff places and with games in hand on the teams above them.

As for Hull, that's now five league games without a win and they remain 19th, four points outside the relegation places.

    Hull 0-2 Stoke

That sums up Hull's day really.

A good ball finds Ryan Longman at the far post but he completely mistimes his touch.

It looked like he was trying to send it back across goal when he could have shot - in the end it was neither.
