They saw their lead at the top of the table extend to eight points thanks to their battling win at Stoke and Bournemouth's 1-0 home defeat by Hull City.

Huddersfield are back up to sixth thanks to their 4-3 win at Reading.

The bottom five all lost today meaning Hull's win at Bournemouth gives them a very healthy 10-point gap from the relegation zone.

• Forest Green are running away with League Two and have today thumped Carlisle 3-0.
• Tranmere remain seven points behind in second after winning 1-0 at Crawley.
• Mansfield get the gong for the most gutsy display - a 3-1 victory despite being a man down after 39 minutes.
• Dominant wins by three goals have also come the way of Harrogate and Colchester.
• Exeter and Newport did their play-off chases no harm with away wins at Walsall and Scunthorpe respectively.

• League One leaders Wycombe drop to fourth after a shock 3-2 loss to strugglers Morecambe.
• Wigan take over at the top after a 3-2 win over Gillingham, while Sunderland go second with a 1-0 win against Portsmouth.

• In the two early kick-offs, Nottingham Forest beat Derby County 2-1 and Bristol City edged Cardiff City 3-2.
• Elsewhere there are wins for Birmingham, Swansea, Blackpool and Sheffield United.
