  1. Postpublished at 32 mins

    Huddersfield 1-0 Stoke

Huddersfield cough up possession in a dangerous area and Jaden Philogene-Bidace is in on goal.

The Aston Villa loanee makes a decent connection with his shot but keeper Lee Nicholls stands up well to it to keep it out.

  2. Postpublished at 31 mins

    Huddersfield 1-0 Stoke

Just after the Town goal Tyrese Campbell went down in the area under a challenge from home defender Tom Lees.

Didn't seem too much in it initially but the replay... Think Huddersfield have got away with that there.

Carlos Corberan has done a brilliant job to turn Huddersfield into play-off contenders after a really difficult 2020-21.

He joined Town in the summer of 2020 after a spell working with Marcelo Bielsa at Leeds and you can see some similarities between this high-energy Huddersfield team and the way the Whites play.

As it stands the Terriers are going fifth.

    Josh Koroma (27 mins)

Well, you just knew it didn't you?

Josh Koroma, who probably should have been sent off for a nasty challenge a few minutes ago, opens the scoring with a shot that takes a heavy deflection to loop over Potters goalkeeper Jack Bonham.

That's a sending off for me.

    That's scandalous, a diabolical decision.

There will have to be a steward's enquiry into that - the referee has no excuse as it was a horrible challenge from Josh Koroma.

  6. ouch!

    Postpublished at 21 mins

    Huddersfield 0-0 Stoke

    Wow.

Huddersfield forward Josh Koroma has got away with one here.

Town play some neat stuff to play out of the Stoke press from a goal kick but Koroma just overruns it and then leaves a foot in high on Stoke defender Taylor Harwood-Bellis.

He definitely made contact but the referee didn't see it clearly.

    No VAR in the Championship.

  7. Postpublished at 18 mins

    Huddersfield 0-0 Stoke

Jaden Philogene-Bidace tees up Mario Vrancic after some lovely close control and the latter forces a smart save from Lee Nicholls in the Town goal.

    Their first shot.

Stoke striker Steven Fletcher is OK to carry on and we're back under way.

The game is just simmering at the moment but it's certainly been competitive.

  9. Postpublished at 15 mins

    Huddersfield 0-0 Stoke

Stoke striker Steven Fletcher is down after a long ball down the field.

He's going to have to get some treatment.

It was a really heavy fall.

  10. Postpublished at 13 mins

    Huddersfield 0-0 Stoke

For the first time Stoke get the ball down and look to create something.

It comes to nothing thanks to a fine tackle from Jonathan Hogg but that's the first time the Potters have really got into Town's half.

    Matthew Glennon
Former Huddersfield Town goalkeeper on BBC Radio Leeds

They're not letting Stoke get in any rhythm.

A couple of times Jonathan Hogg has put his foot in and it's not mattered where the ball has gone, it's just not letting Stoke have any time in midfield.

    Terry Conroy
Former Stoke winger on BBC Radio Stoke

Huddersfield are cutting through Stoke too easily.

They're breaking from midfield and getting at Stoke's back four with ease.

Jordan Thompson and Lewis Baker need to sit tighter.

  13. Postpublished at 9 mins

    Huddersfield 0-0 Stoke

Lewis O'Brien drives forward and takes a shot that is straight at Potters goalkeeper Jack Bonham.

    Bright start from the Terriers.

  14. YELLOW CARDpublished at 5 mins

    Huddersfield 0-0 Stoke City

    First booking of the game.

Stoke midfielder Jordan Thompson absolutely cleans Lewis O'Brien out 35 yards or so from goal.

    Clumsy at best.

First chance of the game goes to the hosts.

Josh Koroma shows a lovely touch to get in and sends a cross in for Danny Ward.

He heads off target but that's a warning.

Ward bagged a hat-trick in the 4-3 win at Reading last week.

  16. Postpublished at 2 mins

    Huddersfield 0-0 Stoke City

Stoke going fairly direct to striker Steven Fletcher in the opening stages.

The Potters have lost four of their past five games and their season is in danger of falling away.

Five minutes to kick off so let's have a quick vote, shall we?

Huddersfield have been this season's surprise package in the Championship and would go four points clear of seventh-placed Nottingham Forest with a victory tonight.

Do you think they'll be in the top six at the end of the season?

Give this post a thumbs up if you think Carlos Corberan can lead Town into the play-offs or, if you think they're going to fall just short, give it a thumbs down.

It has been a busy transfer window for Stoke City boss Michael O'Neill. Never mind the Covid!

Four in - teenage Man City defender Taylor Harwood-Bellis, veteran Phil Jagielka, and midfielders Lewis Baker from Chelsea and Jaden Philogene-Bidace from Aston Villa.

One out - keeper Adam Davies to Sheffield United.

Two in from the reserves - keeper Jack Bonham and striker D'Margio Wright-Phillips.

And one back from three months out with a fractured fibia, in Nick Powell.

Stoke City boss Michael O'Neill saw his side go down 1-0 at Coventry on Tuesday night

The badly missed Powell came on too late to make any real impact in Tuesday night's 1-0 defeat at Coventry.

But this is the night when O'Neill - truly back in the saddle now after testing positive for Covid - has a real selection poser on his mind as he tries to work out how best to knit his new-look outfit all together. And on a ground where 11th-placed Stoke have not lost since 1997, tonight's team sure has a whole different look to the one that beat the Terriers at the bet365 Stadium back in September.

Among the six alterations there is a first ever league start for Aston Villa loanee Jaden Philogene-Bidace on the wing.
