    This is more like it!

George Saville and Shayne Lavery clip in crosses but they were just over the three green shirts in the area.

The home support were begging for that to fall in the right area but Greece survive!

  2. CLOSE!published at 20:56 British Summer Time 2 June 2022

    Northern Ireland 0-1 Greece

    Greece should be two up!

Dimitris Limnios whips in a lovely ball and it's inches away from Giorgos Giakoumakis, who was sliding in the six yard box.

If you're five minutes late for the start of the second half you have not missed a single thing.

There's no real urgency from either side, so you might even have time for a cuppa.

Especially when you are paying a wing back you see players getting targeted. The weak spot for Northern Ireland is the space in behind where other teams have room to move.

Striker Kyle Lafferty says he feared he would "never see the Northern Ireland fans again" before manager Ian Baraclough recalled him to his latest squad for their Nations League quadruple-header.

Can the big forward net his first international goal since 2016?

They got more and more confident. I think half-time was a blessing. They were pouring forward and that worries me, there was more desire from the Greeks getting forward than we were tracking back.

A few goals just before half-time elsewhere.

An Emil Forsberg penalty gave Sweden a 1-0 lead in Slovenia while Iceland hit back against Israel and Switzerland levelled in the Czech Republic (both 1-1).

  10. NI's early mood music needs to change tonepublished at 20:35 British Summer Time 2 June 2022

What was a low-key first half for Northern Ireland has now become a pretty poor first half after that Greece goal.

Tasos Bouchalakis's run was not tracked and he was given far too much time on the edge of the box, even if he did place his finish well.

The result tonight will, of course, set the tempo for this Nations League campaign and the home side will have to inject a bit of life into their performance if they are to turn the early narrative around.

Ian Baraclough was his usual upbeat self in the build-up to this game. He has a job on his hands over the next 15 minutes to help get his side back in this game.

The best thing you can say about the first half is it is only 1-0. They haven't had great chances but they have had more than us - we haven't worked the goalkeeper. We can make excuses about the lateness in the season, they looked jaded and tired, but you have to raise your game and put them under pressure.

  12. HALF-TIMEpublished at 20:32 British Summer Time 2 June 2022

    Northern Ireland 0-1 Greece

Not the best half of football you'll ever see but it's the visitors who lead thanks to Tasos Bakasetas' well-taken finish.

  13. CLOSE!published at 20:31 British Summer Time 2 June 2022

    Northern Ireland 0-1 Greece

Conor Bradley loses the ball to Kostas Tsimikas in the Greek half and the visitors break.

It's worked wide right to Lazaros Rota but he blazes the ball into the Northern Ireland fans behind.

The goal will give them a lot of confidence, they are not chasing the game and can play how they like. It was coming and they had all the ball for that spell. When we have got good results here we have put them under pressure with tempo but that hasn't been there tonight.

  15. YELLOW CARDpublished at 20:28 British Summer Time 2 June 2022

Gavin Whyte is booked for a late challenge. He can't have too many complaints about that one.

I talked about not tracking runners. It's a wonderful finish, he strikes it brilliantly, but it was a bit too easy and he ran off the back of our midfield players.

Celtic's Liel Abada has put Israel 1-0 ahead in their game with Israel.

  19. Strange game so farpublished at 20:21 British Summer Time 2 June 2022

    Northern Ireland 0-0 Greece

    Mark Sterling
BBC Sport NI at Windsor Park

This has been a strange opening half an hour at Windsor.

Neither side has found any real attacking rhythm but it is Greece who imposed themselves more on the hosts.

Conor Bradley made a big impression in his first few appearances for Northern Ireland but he looks as if he doesn't know whether to stick or twist down the right flank from his wing-back position.

Shayne Lavery and particularly Gavin Whyte are working hard up front but the quality of passes up to them so far hasn't been great.

The fans are certainly playing their part from stands, though, rattling through their well-known repertoire of songs rightly.

The game is yet to catch fire, mind you.

We need to get McCann, Davis and Saville on the ball with 15 and 20 yard passes rather than 30 or 40 yard passes. They have man mountains so you have to slide balls down the side. As the half has gone on we have become more and more edgy.
