Nations League: Late drama as Netherlands defeat Wales

The Dutch are suddenly bossing possession once more, as they were in the early stages.

But for all the ball, they are not really going anywhere.

Wout Weghorst is interested for a moment as the Dutch come forward, but Wales close the door.

Wales work a shooting opportunity as Harry Wilson squares for Daniel James.

He tries to curl one from the edge of the area but it's another comfortable save.

Robert Page will be pleased with what he is seeing, though.

This time Harry Wilson swings the free-kick into the box but the Netherlands clear.

A thing I've thought has been evident in Rob Page's reign is that we've got some unbelievable full-backs coming through. Good football players, but unbelievable engines and athletes as well.

Harry Wilson does take the set-piece and forces a first save of the night at either end.

It's a decent strike but Mark Flekken was always going to get across.

That man Rhys Norrington-Davies is in the action again, winning a free-kick in a promising position.

Gareth Bale is on the bench, but Harry Wilson is interested.

I think experience-wise Wayne Hennessey is streets ahead of Danny Ward.

Ward has done well whenever he's come into the fold, the thing is with Ward the problem is he just doesn't seem to be able to stay fit.

After a slightly shaky start, Wales have improved here.

As in Poland last week, Wales' squad players are showing they have something to offer.

A let-off for the visitors as Wales press high through Daniel James.

Keeper Mark Flekken's attempted clearance hits James and sails wide, when it might have ricocheted into the empty net.

Harry Wilson finds Rhys Norrington-Davies - who has been a big presence for Wales so far - and he charges up the left flank.

A lovely cross-field ball from Brennan Johnson finds Rhys Norrington-Davies, who in turn feeds Harry Wilso.

His driven cross is cleared for a corner which Wilson heads wide.

The diminutive Fulham man is not known for back-post headers, but that is a decent effort.
