England are having to be really patient here - we're just not making any inroads with the ball. Italy are just sat in their shape, not allowing any space and England haven't quite got the confidence or timing to just step out at the back and make something happen.

It's all a little bit slow in the build-up.

Feels a bit flat at the moment.

Hungary took an early lead against Germany courtesy of defender Zsolt Nagy's right-foot shot after Manuel Neuer could only parry the ball into his path.

However, Hansi Flick's side responded within three minutes with Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Jonas Hofmann producing a superb finish from Nico Schlotterbeck's wonderful pass.

The Netherlands, with Manchester United target Frenkie de Jong in their ranks, have been knocking on the door against Poland.

But the visitors go ahead with Aston Villa's Matty Cash driving a low effort into the bottom left corner.

Players need to play themselves into the England side for the World Cup, certain players might be playing themselves out too.

The focus is on Mason Mount tonight and he hasn't made the best start, this time mis-hitting a cross straight into the hands of Gianluigi Donnarumma.

Gave Tammy Abraham no chance.

Decent build-up play from England skipper Raheem Sterling, jinking into the box and having Federico Dimarco worried, but the Italy defender makes a good block to avert the danger.

From the corner, Declan Rice volleys an excellent effort from the near post but just cannot keep the shot down.

Not seen a good replay of that Mason Mount strike against the crossbar.

Need to see if Gianluigi Donnarumma got a touch on it, which would make it a stunning save.

It is so easy for the hosts as they take a quick throw in, Raheem Sterling picks it up down the right and slides in a perfect pass for Mason Mount, but the Chelsea midfielder rattles the crossbar with a first-time strike from the edge of the box.

That's the second time Gianluigi Donnarumma has played a poor pass, he's been a bit slow on the ball and he tries a really difficult pass into the midfield. Tammy Abraham steals in but Manuel Locatelli manages to get a block in, it probably would've ended up in a goal because I'm not sure if Donnarumma would've got anywhere near it.

A lively start to this game, despite the lack of supporters inside the stadium.

At the other end, Mason Mount - who is one of the first names on the team-mate - curls straight at Gianluigi Donnarumma.

But the Italy goalkeeper plays a loose pass inside his own area allowing Tammy Abraham to nip in and nick the ball, but then shoots wide under pressure from Manuel Locatelli.

It should be 1-0 - a brilliant move from Italy. Classic wing play, laying the ball inside and he's just in behind Declan Rice. It's a brilliant run and his right-footed shot is wide, it should definitely be 1-0.

What a chance for Italy in just the second minute!

Roma midfielder Lorenzo Pellegrini slices open the England backline with a through ball to Davide Frattesi and the Sassuolo forward is one-on-one with Aaron Ramsdale, but side-foots his shot wide of the far post.

Rachel T: Grealish/Abraham/Sterling is quite a front three in the absence of Harry Kane!

Tammy Abraham is firmly a back-up to Harry Kane but can make an impression tonight with a good showing.

He closes down Gianluigi Donnarumma early on but the Italy goalkeeper is too cool and pops the ball away to a team-mate.

England need a win in the Nations League.
