    Well a play-off for winning the group anyway. The play-off spots could filter down to lower teams as happened for Euro 2020.

    With Ukraine and Scotland having both played a game less than the Republic of Ireland, top spot and a Euro 2024 play-off semi-final is probably beyond the Irish now.

    Irish fans may have hoped for more after they took the lead through Nathan Collins' fine solo goal but a point against Ukraine away from home (albeit in Poland) isn't bad at all.

    Well a week ago they lost to the same opposition at home. So this is a huge step up from that.
