  1. That's it from Cardiff and the Nations Leaguepublished at 22:00 British Summer Time 25 September 2022

    FT: Wales 0-1 Poland

So that's all from us and from Cardiff tonight, as we close the chapter on Group A4.

Wales only won a single point in the group and were relegated, but bigger picture, it should give them some good experience ahead of going to a first World Cup since 1958.

We've probably seen tonight just how key it is that Aaron Ramsey and Joe Allen return for Qatar, but Wales' spirits won't be diminished by tonight's result.

Thank you for following along with us, tonight and throughout this lengthy campaign.

See you on 21 November against the USA!

I am not worried. You wouldn't want it the other round, would you? You wouldn't want us winning 3-0 tonight and losing to Ukraine.

These fans, these players, they have been to two Euros and now they are going to the World Cup.

I don't think we are a top-tier team. I think we fall between the A tier and the B tier. It would have been nice to pick up more points and I am sure if we'd had our strongest team throughout the Nations League, things would have been different.

We miss Aaron Ramsey. He makes a huge difference.

We never really had the quality, never figured out how to hurt Poland.

You can understand a little bit with the players we have got missing.

We have not been able to pick our best XI in these Nations League games but we have been competitive in every one.

I think it was a good effort tonight, but it wasn't to be.

It's a frustrating night for Rob Page. The team out there haven't performed to their best.

There were one or two issues for me. The central midfield boys worked tirelessly but you do need to have more creativity in there. You can't afford to just be dogs of war.

That is a conundrum if there's no Joe Allen and no Ethan Ampadu.

But we go to the World Cup still in good spirits. It would have been nice to stay in the top Nations League group but I think most fans have been saying it doesn't matter too much because we have the World Cup to look forward to.

What a cross from Sorba Thomas. He cuts across it.

We have worked hard all night but I don't think we have been the best going forward.

We have lacked imagination if anything.
