Leicester manager Brendan Rodgers has spoken positively about his team's performance in his press conference and is adamant results will come if he side carries on playing the same way.

Evidently, Leicester will be better when they get some of their best players back.

There seems to be some good news about striker Jamie Vardy, who has been missing since the end of December with a hamstring injury.

"Jamie will be back in seven to 10 days," said Rodgers.

That could mean him being available for the Europa Conference League last-16 tie next month.

A bit like the two goals in less than a minute earlier, I did not see this one coming...

Former England midfielder Jack Wilshere has joined Danish club Aarhus on a deal until the end of the season.

Wilshere, 30, who has been without a club since leaving Bournemouth at the end of last season, had been training at former club Arsenal.

"I am at a point in my career where I need to get started again after a difficult period," Wilshere told the club website.

"I am very grateful for the opportunity AGF has offered me and I will do everything I can to help the team move forward. I am very much looking forward to contributing to the team."

  4. 'I didn't like our performance'published at 19:10 Greenwich Mean Time 20 February 2022

    FT: Wolves 2-1 Leicester

    Wolves

Wolves boss Bruno Lage speaking to Sky Sports: "The three points was the most important thing. We have 40 points from 24 games and that is important for us. But about the game, I didn't like it. We started the game very well, dominating with the ball and after that we scored and suffered a little bit. Some periods we don't have the ball, that's why we gave confidence to Leicester.

"They have a strong team, they played today with a lot of midfielders and we didn't press the way we should. They played with men between the lines and had the game under control more than us.

"But we had good team spirit and team work. It was a balanced game and we got the three points."

  6. 'Kane is far superior to Mbappe'published at 19:08 Greenwich Mean Time 20 February 2022

Saturday is probably the best all round performance I have seen from Harry Kane for quite a while so this seems like a big call.

Was this Spurs fan a bit over the top about Kane or is that observation about right?

  7. Kane masterclass blows title race wide openpublished at 19:07 Greenwich Mean Time 20 February 2022

Did anyone catch the Manchester City v Tottenham game on Saturday evening?

Harry Kane did not look like a man who has struggled for form and Premier League goals this season did he?

He was painted as the man to light up the Etihad last summer and help City retain their Premier League crown. But six months on his two goals may have just blown the title race wide open.

The Tottenham striker did it in style too, with a scintillating solo performance on Saturday night to sink the side who tried so hard to hard to sign him at the start of the season.

This piece is well worth a look.

It was raining goals today wasn't it? Excuse the pun around the horrendous weather.

But on a serious note, nine goals is a pretty good return from two games.

    Talking of cracking matches...

  10. 'I think we can do something special'published at 19:02 Greenwich Mean Time 20 February 2022

    FT: Wolves 2-1 Leicester

    Wolves

Wolves manager Bruno Lage speaking to BBC Sport: We won the three points and scored twice but I think it was okay. It was not our best performance.

"The step forward for me and my players to be a bigger team is when you play these sorts of teams, that create problems, we need to control more of the game. In some periods we didn't in the way we defended and pressed.

"They created a lot of problems but when you look at it we started very well and that is the thing we need to do more.

On the recent run: "It is [down to] hard work. The are no secrets in football. It is hard work and team work. That is no secret. I think we can do something special but we have to continue to work. In four or five days we are going to play against a strong team, they know we are a strong team and we will go there with the mentality of trying to win the game."

  11. 'We dominated the game'published at 18:59 Greenwich Mean Time 20 February 2022

    FT: Wolves 2-1 Leicester

    Leicester City

Leicester City midfielder Marc Albrighton speaking to Sky Sports: "We are massively frustrated. We dominated the game from the first whistle to the last. Two shots from outside the box cost us. We've not played well in parts this season but I think we can hold ouir heads high after that and think our performances are coming back. It is something to build on, certainly.

"For large parts, we defended well. We had a lot of corners and set pieces to defend, especially in the first half with the wind and the conditions and I thought we dealt really well with them.

"In attack, you just need that break. We were doing everything right with the triangles that we work on, they were causing problems. If we play like that between now and the end of the season, we'll win more than we lose."

Leicester City are miles off where they were last term aren't they? The Foxes have collected 27 points from their 23 Premier League games this season, 16 fewer than they’d mustered at this stage last season.

  13. 'Our mentality brought us the three points today'published at 18:50 Greenwich Mean Time 20 February 2022

    FT: Wolves 2-1 Leicester

    Wolves

Wolves midfielder Ruben Neves speaking to Sky Sports: "It was a really hard game and Leicester played well. They have a lot of quality and we knew that before the game. Our mentality brought us the three points today. When we win like this, even when we don't play like we want to play, is really good. It is a fantastic win for us, and we just want to keep it going.

"We try to score early in every game and start strong. We did that today, but we didn't play our game. These kind of wins are really important; sometimes you won't play your game but you need to win with your strength and your mentality and that is what we did. Maybe it was one of our worst games this season, but we were rewarded with the three points because we ran a lot and fought a lot. We deserved the win.

On Leicester: "They have a lot of quality in their squad and it is really hard to play against them. We got the three points and that is massive.

On top four hopes: "We are going game by game, that is our main goal. The opponent and the stadium doesn't matter, we'll try to win the game.

On Pedro Neto: "It was great to welcome him back onto the pitch. I wish him the best and hope he can help us this season."

  14. Rodgers 'enthused' despite defeatpublished at 18:47 Greenwich Mean Time 20 February 2022

    FT: Wolves 2-1 Leicester

    Leicester City

Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers: "Sometimes after you lose there is disappointment or frustration but I am very enthused. I have seen us starting to see us return to our levels of play and creativity. It is just disappointing, they had two shots from outside the box and it's two goals.

"It is never ideal [to go behind early] but it shows you the courage and spirit of the players that we played our way into the game again, looked dangerous and got the equaliser.

"Our mantra is about having the ball and being progressive. The triangles down the side of the pitch worked really well for us.

"Our movement and brightness in the final third was good, we just lacked that position for our final effort on goal. I was really pleased with the quality at times, the spirit and work rate.

"If you look at the winless run it should already be over. Today it was just keeping the performance level up."
