Paul Jones: Dont understand EFL rules. Forest call game off 3rd Jan but get a team out to beat Arsenal 4 days later. Rearranged game we ask to call off, 6 outfield subs started 1 game between them but we have to play. Joke.
Hull City sack boss McCann
If you've been busy today then firstly, fair play, and secondly, you might not have seen the news of the latest Championship sacking.
Hull City have parted company with manager Grant McCann, less than a week after they were taken over by the Turkey-based Acun Medya Group.
McCann, 41, was in his third season in charge of the Tigers, having steered the club back to the Championship last term following relegation.
He departs despite back-to-back wins which moved the club 10 points clear of the relegation zone.
"These matters are never easy," chairman and owner Acun Ilicali said.
"During the process, Grant has always remained professional and fully focused on the team, and will forever be a friend of the Tigers. I'm sure Grant will be successful in whatever his next challenge is."
Hartlepool have levelled things up at home to Charlton!
Substitute Luke Molyneux has done the job his manager sent him for, curling his shot beyond the keeper and into the net to make it 2-2.
The other three quarter finals are all still level too.
Plenty of fingernails being bitten in the closing stages as we are still none-the-wiser as to who will make it into the semis.
Luton Town 1-0 Bristol City
Bristol City will be wondering how on earth they've gone in at the break a goal down. For all their possession, the Robins didn't produce a shot on target and Luton - with their first attempt of the match - capitalised on that.
Nottingham Forest 2-0 Barnsley
Another tough night for the bottom side.
Keinan Davis gave the home side an early lead with a cool finish after pinching the ball 30 yards out and Ryan Yates slid in a close range second.
Mountain for the Tykes to climb now.
Quote MessageForest have been excellent again in this first half. It's been all Forest, they are very good value for being 2-0 up and you fancy them to go on and score more in the second half.
Colin Fray, BBC Radio Nottingham's Forest commentator
QPR 0-0 Swansea City
It's goalless in west London at the break, in what's been a fairly even match so far although neither team has had a stand-out attempt at goal.
Coventry 0-0 Stoke
The home side have had the better of it but no goals so far.
Birmingham 0-1 Peterborough
Peterborough are halfway to a big win.
Jack Marriott gave them an early lead and they've been pretty good value for it.
Quote MessageBirmingham need to do much better. Offensively they have not been a threat. They need to up their game in the last third of the pitch.
Martin O'Connor, Ex-Birmingham captain on BBC Radio WM
Birmingham 0-1 Peterborough
Posh are looking for just their second away win of the season this evening.
Home goalkeeper Neil Etheridge has to be on his game to keep out a shot from midfielder Jack Taylor.
Tom Lockyer (42 mins)
Completely against the run of play, Luton Town have the lead with the first shot on target of the match.
Bristol City were temporarily down to 10 men with Zak Vyner down and receiving treatment as Luton whip in a corner. Tom Lockyer gets up highest to head it in and give the home side the lead.
For all the possession Bristol City have had, they are behind.
They must have heard us!
We have a goal at last and it's Josh Grant slotting in for Bristol Rovers at Scunthorpe after 36 minutes!
And just like that Bradford want a piece of the action too with Matty Daly striking to put them a goal to the good against struggling Walsall, who have lost their last three.
Ryan Yates (38 mins)
And now it is 2-0. And Ryan Yates HAS scored.
Some nice play from the home side down ends with Brennan Johnson sending a low centre into the middle of the six-yard box for Yates to convert.
Good from Forest but the Barnsley defending was slack at best.
Quote MessageIt's been coming you've got to say. The passing, the movement and the running off the ball was too much for Barnsley
Steve Hodge, Former Forest midfielder on BBC Radio Nottingham
Nottingham Forest 1-0 Barnsley
Forest looking for a second.
Ryan Yates meets a corner from the right hand side and his header is tipped over the crossbar by goalkeeper Bradley Collins.
QPR 0-0 Swansea City
Chris Willock whips a cross into the box from the left and Charlie Austin gets a good head onto it, forcing a save from Ben Hamer. His header should have been on target you think, but then Austin is flagged narrowly offside anyway.
Birmingham 0-1 Peterborough
Birmingham should be level!
Scott Hogan tees up strike partner Lukas Jutkiewicz but he sends his effort wide when well placed.
Luton Town 0-0 Bristol City
Han-Noah Massengo sends a volley firing over the goal and then Antoine Semenyo pounces on a sloppy back pass by Luton, but James Shea gets the ball just before him as he comes thundering towards his goal.
The Luton crowd sound very, very quiet.
