  1. League Two latestpublished at 20:19 Greenwich Mean Time 25 January 2022

What's that I hear you say? Give me a goal in League Two?

I can't do that at the moment I'm afraid.

Half-an-hour gone in tonight's four games and we're still waiting for them to trouble the scorers.

    Nottingham Forest 1-0 Barnsley

The home side have been well on top since taking the lead but they're lucky to still have the lead!

Devante Cole's low cross finds Callum Styles and his shot is goalbound before Forest defender Scott McKenna clears it away from the line.

  3. Postpublished at 20:17 Greenwich Mean Time 25 January 2022

    QPR 0-0 Swansea City

Cyrus Christie does well to get the better of Charlie Austin in QPR's corner and sends a cross into the box, but he can't pick out anyone and it gets safely put behind by the home defence.

Neither keeper has been really tested yet and we're almost half hour in.

  4. Papa John’s Trophy quarter finals latestpublished at 20:16 Greenwich Mean Time 25 January 2022

Arsenal U21s have made a change at the start of the second half with Reuell Walters joining the action.

He's come on for Charlie Patino, who has made a handful of appearances for Arsenal's first team this season.

Arsenal are the only academy side left in the competition after they beat Chelsea's youngsters 4-1 in the last round.

It's all very much in the balance across all four quarters.

  5. Postpublished at 20:13 Greenwich Mean Time 25 January 2022

    Coventry 0-0 Stoke

Coventry nearly capitalise on a mistake by James Chester.

The former Wales international overhits a square pass to centre-back partner Phil Jagielka and Viktor Gyokeres latches on to it and fires a shot at target that Jack Bonham has to be alert to keep out.

  6. Postpublished at 20:10 Greenwich Mean Time 25 January 2022

    Luton Town 0-0 Bristol City

It's still all Bristol City at Kenilworth Road, but 20 minutes in and neither team have yet to have any clear-cut chances at goal with no shots on target. That final killer instinct has been a problem for the Robins this season.

  7. League One latestpublished at 20:10 Greenwich Mean Time 25 January 2022

Luke Jephcott has bagged the first goal of the night in League One after 20 minutes to put Plymouth ahead away at Fleetwood.

It's a clinical left-footed finish, blasting the ball into the roof of the net, but just like buses....

The second goal of the night arrived very shortly afterwards with Paddy Lane equalising for Fleetwood with a fine strike of his own.

No goals elsewhere so far but Burton have rattled the crossbar at home to MK Dons.

  8. Postpublished at 20:09 Greenwich Mean Time 25 January 2022

    Nottingham Forest 1-0 Barnsley

    Forest well on top now.

James Garner shows a lovely touch to move the ball on to his left foot inside the area but mishits his low shot across the face of goal.

  9. Postpublished at 20:06 Greenwich Mean Time 25 January 2022

    QPR 0-0 Swansea City

Swansea are pressing well and have been causing problems down both wings for the QPR defence. A long-ball over the top finds Joel Latibeaudiere, who makes a break, but he's eventually flagged offside.

GOAL: Birmingham 0-1 Peterboroughpublished at 20:03 Greenwich Mean Time 25 January 2022

    Jack Marriott (16 mins)

    BIG goal for the visitors.

The away side break quickly and the ball is slid through for Jack Marriott and the striker shows good composure to clip a strike beyond the goalkeeper.

    Not what Barnsley needed.

They cough up possession 30 yards from goal and Aston Villa loanee Keinan Davis slides a measured shot into the bottom corner for his first Reds goal.

  13. Postpublished at 20:01 Greenwich Mean Time 25 January 2022

    QPR 0-0 Swansea City

It's been a scrappy start in London, with no major chances for either side. Moses Odubajo pounces on a poor Swansea pass across midfield to break down the right, but his final ball into the box doesn't find any of his own players or challenge Ben Hamer.

  14. Postpublished at 19:59 Greenwich Mean Time 25 January 2022

    Nottingham Forest 0-0 Barnsley

Barnsley are bottom of the table and without an away win all season but they're certainly putting up a fight this evening.

Mads Andersen becomes their second player to be shown a yellow card for the Tykes inside the first 15 minutes.

  15. Papa John’s Trophy quarter-finals latestpublished at 19:58 Greenwich Mean Time 25 January 2022

It's half-time in three of tonight's quarter-finals and Charlton are the only side with their noses in front so far.

They fell behind to Hartlepool before striking twice to take a 2-1 lead into the changing rooms.

Rotherham were ahead at home to Cambridge but were pegged back five minutes before half-time and in-form Wigan are being held at goalless at home by Arsenal's youngsters.

We're still waiting for a goal in the 19:45 GMT kick-off between Sutton and Harrogate.

  16. Postpublished at 19:53 Greenwich Mean Time 25 January 2022

    Luton Town 0-0 Bristol City

Bristol City have started brightly and are enjoying almost all of the possession in the opening few minutes, including winning four early corners (three one after the other). The last gets whipped in by Alex Scott but is cleared upfield by Elijah Adebayo.

  17. Postpublished at 19:52 Greenwich Mean Time 25 January 2022

    Coventry 0-0 Stoke

No early goals in this game between the two play-off hopefuls.

Both teams are in indifferent form over the past few weeks but a win today could really put them back on the right track.

  18. KICK-OFFpublished at 19:46 Greenwich Mean Time 25 January 2022

    Here we go.

It's also quarter-final night in the Papa John's Trophy.

Three of the four ties kicked off at 19:00 GMT and we've already seen a few goals.

Joe Grey gave League Two Hartlepool a dream start against League One Charlton before Mason Burstow and Alex Gilbey turned it around for the Addicks after 32 minutes, and Paul Digby has just levelled for Cambridge after Wes Harding had given Rotherham the lead.

Wigan against Arsenal U21s remains goalless and the final tie of the evening sees Sutton United host Harrogate Town with kick-off at 19:45 GMT.

A quartet of games in League Two this evening.

Fifth-placed Newport will go third if they can win at out-of-sorts Leyton Orient.

Lowly Scunthorpe are in need of a win when they host Bristol Rovers, while Barrow can pull away from the bottom two with victory over Salford City.

Walsall host Bradford City, looking to bring an end to their run of three successive defeats.

    • Barrow v Salford City
    • Leyton Orient v Newport County
    • Scunthorpe United v Bristol Rovers
