Dave Adams: Typical Albion. Sign a forward and then he gets injured for two months - and we really need a forward.

Yes, you have to say losing your No.1 target Daryl Dike to a hamstring injury on his home debut was the last thing Val Ismael wanted or needed.

An early chant of "Is this a Library?" from the happier away fans as the second half starts to simmer.

But it's enough to rouse Albion to get on the attack as Karlan Grant makes a nuisance of himself.

Albion have the meanest defence in the Championship. That's only the 21st league goal they have shipped this season - and only their seventh at home.

But, by way of encouragement, they have conceded the first goal three times at The Hawthorns - and each time they have come back to get something out of the game - victory against QPR in September and draws with Middlesbrough and Cardiff.

Added to that, PNE have not won at The Hawthorns since 1973! And Albion have won all the past 10 home meetings.

You can see why the home fans are frustrated at half-time.

Val Ismael has to turn the players around mentally at half-time - there has got to be a massive improvement.

There has been no potency up front, no one to play off. There has been no threat at all.

Boos from most parts of the ground as Albion's dispirited players troop off.

And a chant of "What A Load Of Rubbish" from the Birmingham Road End.

At least it's a bit nicer than the words they used on Saturday!

The North End fans are delighted though. And particularly Simon too! Whoever he supports!

Two minutes of added time to be played.

Val Ismael probably cannot get wait to back down that tunnel and offer some well chosen words.

It's a terrible time to give a goal away from Albion's point of view. Now Albion have got to dig deep and show what character they have got.

And there it is. Emil Riis Jakobsen with the opener.

Preston attack again down the left, wing-back Greg Cunningham clips over a left-foot cross, David Button can only parry and Riis Jakobsen is on hand to bundle in from almost on the line.

Hello Dave?: Re: 20:27 There's a fair chance Simon is an Albion fan who wants the manager gone.

Possibly. The Hawthorns is not a particularly happy place at the moment.

An Albion corner. Their second. Mowatt to take.

But Preston break upfield and cause enough unrest in the home defence to bring a few oohs and aahs from the away end.

It's one each on the 'ballooned over' front as Alex Mowatt's effort disappears into the Smethwick End. He was under pressure by Ryan Ledson, to be fair!

Emil Riis Jakobsen fires a powerful right-foot shot high and wide. Ugh!!!

Still 10 minutes to the break and already I'm dreaming of my half-time Bovril.
