    Coventry 0-0 Blackpool

Kenny Dougall has just come close for Blackpool as they take the game to Coventry in these early stages.

At the other end, however, Gustavo Hamer is played through and tries his luck before hitting the crossbar.

  2. Postpublished at 19:52 Greenwich Mean Time 8 February 2022

    Stoke 0-0 Swansea

Stoke's Lewis Baker is enjoying a new lease of life in the Championship and his free-kick has caused some early problems for the Swansea defence, with three headed efforts coming in.

This is a clash between two sides who really wish they were higher in the table.

A good performance tonight and they might just climb up a place or two.

  3. Postpublished at 19:52 Greenwich Mean Time 8 February 2022

    Derby 0-0 Hull

Derby have started well here, with Nathan Byrne racing towards goal before working it to Tom Lawrence.

He then finds Craig Forsyth who puts in a cross before Festy Ebosele heads it behind towards Jason Knight, but he can't quite latch onto it.

Derby giving Hull plenty to think about in these early stages.

  4. Postpublished at 19:49 Greenwich Mean Time 8 February 2022

    Fulham 0-0 Millwall

Fulham are riding high in the Championship at the minute but it's their cross-city rivals who've got the first bit of action in this one.

Oli Burke does well to work down the right and he puts in a cross which is deflected and eventually dealt with by the hosts.

Is it Fulham's title to lose already in the Championship? Will Bournemouth's FA Cup exit at the hands of non-league Boreham Wood on Sunday have a bigger effect on their promotion chances?

At the other end, is there any chance Barnsley can turn around their dreadful season and are the odds just stacked against a great escape for Derby?

Big opportunites for those struggling at the wrong end of the table this evening.

As already mentioned, Barnsley head to play-off chasing Luton looking to move off the bottom while Derby just above them host fifth-from-bottom Hull.

The Rams are seven points adrift of safety and have also played more games than all their nearest sides in the table.

A "must-win" you feel this evening at Pride Park for Wayne Rooney's side.

  10. Fulham look to extend leadpublished at 19:39 Greenwich Mean Time 8 February 2022

    Fulham v Millwall (19:45 GMT)

    top 6Image source, .

Eight points could be the size of Fulham's lead at the top of the Championship later tonight if they can beat visitors Millwall at Craven Cottage.

Marco Silva's side have two games in hand on second-placed Blackburn and third-placed Bournemouth, who both play on Wednesday.

Just outside of the top six and also in action this evening are Luton who can go level on points with sixth-placed West Brom with a win over bottom-placed Barnsley.

  11. Potters needing snookerspublished at 19:37 Greenwich Mean Time 8 February 2022

Stoke City v Swansea City (19:45 GMT)

    Michael O'NeillImage source, PA Media

Stoke City have fallen off the play-off pace lately with just the one win in their past seven league games, but Michael O'Neill's side could still make a late charge.

But that would need to start sooner rather than later to become a reality with plenty of teams between them and sixth place as things stand.

Swansea meanwhile must continue to scratch their heads at what could've been this season.

Consistency has deserted the Swans and Russell Martin, but the manner of their victory over promotion-chasing Blackburn on Saturday proved what can be achieved by this squad.

Can they kick-on tonight in the Potteries?

  12. Rooney believes Rams can take it to the finishpublished at 19:36 Greenwich Mean Time 8 February 2022

Derby County v Hull City (19:45 GMT)

    Wayne RooneyImage source, Rex Features

There's rarely a day Derby County are out of the headlines at present and unfortunately not always for reasons to do with matters on the pitch.

But tonight, focus at Pride Park will be very much on the need to pick up three points against Hull City if the Rams are to keep their great escape hopes alive.

Read more below about what boss Wayne Rooney thinks of the chances of that still happening.

Shota Arveladze meanwhile comes to town with a win and a defeat from his two games in charge of the Tigers so far.

He'll be hoping to engineer a result that keeps them comfortably away from being dragged into the relegation zone melee beneath them.

  13. London Callingpublished at 19:34 Greenwich Mean Time 8 February 2022

    Fulham v Millwall (19:45 GMT)

    CarvalhoImage source, Getty Images

An intriguing evening in prospect by the banks of the River Thames as west London meets south east London at Craven Cottage.

There'll be plenty of passion in the stands no doubt as leaders Fulham take on Millwall looking to put even more daylight between themselves and the chasing pack.

Blackpool sprung a surprise on Marco Silva's side last time out in a Championship home fixture by coming away with a 1-1 draw and Gary Rowett's Lions will be hoping they can replicate that having been on the receiving end of a 2-1 defeat by Fulham earlier this season.

A symbol of a season that has failed to spark into life.

  14. Play-offs still on the horizonpublished at 19:33 Greenwich Mean Time 8 February 2022

Coventry City v Blackpool (19:45 GMT)

    CoventryImage source, PA Media

Two sides who sit within reach of the top six go head-to-head at the CBS Arena with Coventry City hosting Blackpool.

Both sit on 40 points in 12th and 13th respectively, five behind West Brom in sixth, but Coventry crucially have two games in hand on both the Baggies and their visitors this evening.

The Tangerines though come into this one in the better form unbeaten in their past four which included an impressive point at leaders Fulham but if Coventry can find some consistency, the play-offs are most definitely within their reach.

  15. Hatters heading in right directionpublished at 19:31 Greenwich Mean Time 8 February 2022

Luton Town v Barnsley (19:45 GMT)

    Nathan JonesImage source, PA Media

Contrasting fortunes and contrasting moods you could say as Luton host Barnsley at Kenilworth Road.

Nathan Jones has seen his Luton side move to within three points of the play-offs thanks to just one defeat in their past eight games and confidence is flowing with the club also into the fifth round of the FA Cup.

Another win this evening would see them move level on points with West Brom in sixth.

For Barnsley, it's an all together different set of circumstances, bottom of the table with no win in 12.

The Tykes are also eight points adrift of safety and know time is running out to turn the ship around and hang on to their Championship status.

  16. League Two previewpublished at 19:29 Greenwich Mean Time 8 February 2022

    Dom TelfordImage source, PA Media

And we've also got a full programme of League Two action this evening.

Forest Green are 10 points clear of Tranmere in second and Rob Edwards' side host Rochdale at The New Lawn.

Tranmere meanwhile entertain Swindon Town while the season's fairytale so far, promoted Sutton United in third, have Salford City to contend with at Gander Green Lane.

Right on their heels are Northampton Town in fourth and Newport County in fifth who go head-to-head at Sixfields while unbeaten-in-nine Mansfield Town are at home to Colchester United.

Rounding off the play-off pack are Exeter City in seventh who take on Leyton Orient.

Finally at the bottom, can Scunthorpe halt a run of seven straight defeats? They take on a Walsall side whose manager Matty Taylor is also under the pump having tasted defeat in their past six league games.

As mentioned, all 24 sides are in action in League One tonight.

Leaders Rotherham head to AFC Wimbledon looking for a fifth win in a row to keep themselves ahead of chasers Wigan.

The Latics are also on their travels at Sheffield Wednesday who themselves are starting to find some form on the fringes of the play-off places.

Looking to pounce on any slip up by Wigan are MK Dons, a point behind in third who are up at Fleetwood searching for their fourth win on the bounce.

Still managerless Sunderland meanwhile will be looking to avoid a third defeat in a row when they take on Cheltenham.

Rounding off the current incumbents of play-off places, Wycombe in fifth are at home to Shrewsbury while sixth-placed Oxford United head to Accrington.

Elsewhere, bottom-placed Doncaster will be hoping to build on their surprise win at Sunderland on Saturday when they host Ipswich.
