Well I was privately hoping we might get a Valentine's night card or two.

Joe Rankin-Costello, Rovers' late inclusion, is first in the book.

Free-kick for Rovers, followed by a little fancy footwork from Blackburn's 20-goal man, BBD. But he gets closed down - and still there's no way through.

Sustained spell of pressure from the Albion.

Andy Carroll's right arm keeps twitching as he looks to call for a decent delivery from the flanks.

Adam Reach finally fires one over from the right but, although the big man gets his head to it, Rovers clear their lines.

Half an hour gone.

Albion haven't managed a goal now in more than five hours of football but they are so far looking the more likely of these two well-matched teams.

Albion are definitely growing into this game - and the home fans are responding.

Darnell Furlong takes the free-kick himself from 20 yards but his right-foot effort can only find the side netting. A few oohs and ahhs from the locals though as it whistled wide.

Blackburn are all over the place at the moment.

They're letting balls get threaded through them in the middle of the park.

There are too many little mistakes.

Andy Carroll then also materialises at the far post as he gets in a low right-foot shot which Rovers keeper Thomas Kaminski gets down to save, before Darnell Furlong wins a free-kick.

First big chance for the Albion.

Darnell Furlong gallops down the right and bends over a great cross but it comes at a fast, awkward height and although a stretching Karlan Grant meets it at the far post he bundles it over the bar.

Rovers respond with a fast break down the right but Sam Gallagher's low cross is cleared.

Oooh, it's a corner! Albion threaten for the first time and win a corner.

But Alex Mowatt's right-wing flag-kick fails to find an Albion head.

It's a great half-volley from John Buckley.

It looked like that was going straight into the top corner before it took a deflection.

This has been a good start from Blackburn.
