  1. Relieved Neilson eyes new signingspublished at 14:43 Greenwich Mean Time 22 January 2022

FT: Auchinleck Talbot 0-5 Heart of Midlothian

Hearts manager Robbie Neilson is relieved to have eased past a potential difficult hurdle.

"I was delighted," he tells BBC Scotland. "We knew it was going to be tough as Auchinleck are a very good team and they had a couple of early chances.

"It might have been a different story if those go in, but it was a very professional performance."

Neilson is delighted to have Liam Boyce back fit and scoring but admits he is short of striking options and is still looking to add a couple to his squad during January.

  14. Will we get an upset or two today?published at 14:25 Greenwich Mean Time 22 January 2022

We've got three Championship v Premiership ties, with Ayr United hosting St Mirren and Kilmarnock at home to Dundee United. Morton, visit Motherwell.

Cup holders St Johnstone are toiling for form at the moment, sitting bottom of the Premiership and losing nine successive games in all competitions. The Perth side visit League 2 leaders Kelty Hearts, who have lost just once in the division all season and took care of League 1 Montrose in the last round.

Dundee are on a wretched run too but their opponents, Dumbarton, are also on rocky ground, ending a sequence of five League 1 defeats with a welcome win last weekend.

A thoroughly professional and clinical performance from Robbie Neilson's side takes Hearts into the last 16 of the Scottish Cup.

For Auchinleck, they could not repeat their heroics of the previous round's win over second tier Hamilton and they never threatened another cup shock.
