It was after a 4-1 defeat at Middlesbrough in October 2005 that Roy Keane was asked to analyse Manchester United's performance for MUTV.

Keane's assessment was so scathing, it was never broadcast. Two weeks later, he left the club.

Keane is working for ITV tonight, Cristiano Ronaldo played in the game and does so this evening.

In addition to Ralf Rangnick laying a wreath and their players wearing black armbands, Manchester United are also hosting 44 family members of the eight players who died in the Munich Air Disaster in the directors' box at Old Trafford tonight.

The poignant 'Flowers of Manchester' tribute song to the Busby Babes is being played currently.

Here come the players, Middlesbrough followed by hosts Manchester United.

Ralf Rangnick and Chris Wilder both carry wreaths towards the halfway line.

Tonight is the closest game Manchester United play at Old Trafford to the anniversary of the Munich Air Disaster.

February 6 will mark the 64th anniversary since the crash, when 23 passengers, including eight players, lost their lives when United's plane crashed after a re-fuelling stop in Munich on the way back from a European Cup tie in Belgrade.

The normal service will take place at Old Trafford on Sunday but tonight, interim boss Ralf Rangnick will lay a wreath on the pitch before kick-off and United's players will wear black armbands.

Middlesbrough have progressed from only one of their last 10 FA Cup ties against Premier League opposition, though that one instance did come in Manchester in 2014-15, beating City 2-0 at the Etihad.
