Apart from a couple of openings early in the game, Cambridge haven't had any real chances.

You can put that down to good game management from Luton.

Luton are in control with half time approaching but if Cambridge United can get a goal back before the break it would liven up the home crowd and make things interesting again.

Luton are dictating play now as they look to get a third before half time. Fred Onyedinma ghosts in from the left to meet a cross but George Williams does well to shield the ball and allow his keeper to gather.

Luton are having a good season in the Championship and are in the mix for the play-offs. Watching this it is easy to see why because they are difficult side to play against. Strong, direct and clinical.

Peter Kioso tries to bring a bouncing ball on the edge of the Cambridge United area under control but then launches his shot into the stand behind the goal.

The home fans find their voice again as Dan Potts deflects behind a cross to give Luton a corner but when the ball comes in the referee immediately blows his whistle for what I assume was a foul inside the area.

Wes Hoolihan thinks he should be given a penalty for a foul inside the area but there looks to be nothing in it to me.

All the noise is from the travelling fans now with Luton firmly in control. The visitors have been clinical with their handful of chances.

It's a low, dipping shot.

A wonderful finish from Gomes.

Luton have weathered the early storm and are starting to pass the ball around more, while the crowd has quietened a bit after a boisterous start.

Luton boss Nathan Jones has liked what he's seen from his side so far.

Cambridge United are not letting their heads drop after that early blow and are on the front foot as they win a corner but the shot from the edge of the area following the delivery is charged down.

The keeper had no chance in getting to it. Luton score a lot of goals from set-pieces. Nathan Jones will be very happy with them scoring from their second chance of the game.

Cambridge United have the first shot on target but it is a bit of a scuffed effort by James Brophy straight at Jed Steer.

There's a really good tempo to this game. Feels like a proper cup tie.

It is like watching early 2010s Premier League at the moment as 35-year-old former Stoke and Norwich striker Cameron Jerome has half a chance for Luton but is unable to get his effort on target.

Luton are struggling at the moment. I don't know if they're able to play the possession game Nathan Jones wants.

They need to change something, they haven't started very brightly.

Great start by Cambridge United with Wes Hoolahan rolling back the years and pulling the strings in midfield. He slips a great ball into the box for Harvey Knibbs, whose cross is cleared to the edge of the area where Adam May comes in to drive an effort just over.

There's a bit of a mix up in the Luton defence as Jed Steer, making his debut for the visitors, doesn't call for a loose ball and it is cleared by his defender only as far as Wes Hoolahan but his attempt to lob into the empty net goes over.
