  2. KICK-OFFpublished at 16:04 Greenwich Mean Time 29 January 2022

Second periods around the country are kicking off.

    Let's hope for more madness!

  3. Pressure getting to Celtic?published at 16:00 Greenwich Mean Time 29 January 2022

    HT: Celtic 0-0 Dundee Utd

That result in Dingwall opened the door for Celtic to close the gap to two points at the top, but they are yet to break the deadlock at Parkhead against Dundee United.

Could the pressure be getting to Ange Postecoglou's side?

  4. 'Very disappointing' for Rangers - Van Bronckhorstpublished at 15:58 Greenwich Mean Time 29 January 2022

    FT: Ross County 3-3 Rangers

Rangers manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst told Sky Sports: "It's very disappointing. It was a hard game, we started really well.

"The first goal after a couple of minutes was good, but we gave two goals to Ross County and made it really difficult for ourselves.

"The second half we started really well, I think we dominated the whole half and created a lot of chances. We had chances to kill the game but in added time we were too sloppy, we gave the ball away and gave the corner away then conceded a goal late in the game.

Rangers dropped two points after conceding a late equaliser

"For us that's something I'm not used to seeing, so many goals against us in this manner.

"Today many things went wrong, especially defensively. It was disappointing afternoon for us.

"If you go 1-0 up you have to be solid. The reaction we had in the second half was really good but in the end we gave away two points when we should have had three points."

  5. Mackay revels in County comebackpublished at 15:54 Greenwich Mean Time 29 January 2022

    FT: Ross County 3-3 Rangers

Ross County manager Malky Mackay told BBC Sportsound: "We kept going until the very end. We know that we can score.

"I asked them to stay calm out of possession. I always knew we'd create chances. Rangers are always going to be a good team, they're always going to create chances.

"I'm delighted for Matthew Wright. It's what he does - he scores goals."

    HT: Kilmarnock 1-0 Inverness CT

It’s clear to see Kyle Lafferty has given the Kilmarnock team and the fans a lift. Even on top of his excellent goal, he has a physical presence and attitude that seems to add another dimension to the Rugby Park side.

Caley Thistle have had a couple of bright moments, mainly involving Dundee United loanee Logan Chalmers, but defenders Kirk Broadfoot and Robbie Deas are waking a tightrope after first half bookings.

  8. HALF-TIME: Hibernian 2-1 Livingstonpublished at 15:51 Greenwich Mean Time 29 January 2022

From the first whistle, both teams have made this a competitive spectacle.

Demetri Mitchell opened the scoring after a Chris Cadden cross evaded everyone in the box and fell to the two-time ex-Hearts man, who certainly celebrated like a Hibs player now.

Livingston were denied a penalty, and their players were stunned to not be awarded a spot-kick, before Matt Macey’s failed punch allowed Ayo Obileye to head to ball into an empty net.

A Cadden cross then evaded everyone again, including the Livingston keeper Max Stryjek, and fell into the net fortuitously for the home side.

  9. HALF-TIME: Celtic 0-0 Dundee Unitedpublished at 15:50 Greenwich Mean Time 29 January 2022

Considering they were looking to pay tribute to late manager Wim Jansen and have the chance to narrow the gap with leaders Rangers to two points, Celtic's performance has been strangely subdued.

They have had the majority of the possession against a United side who have rarely been out of their own half, but goalkeeper Benjamin Siegrist has been the equal to any chances they have created while Matt O'Riley missed an open goal.

Much work still to do for Ange Postecoglou's side.

  10. HALF-TIME: Hearts 1-0 Motherwellpublished at 15:49 Greenwich Mean Time 29 January 2022

Decent viewing at Tynecastle Park, with both sides creating chances and troubling the keepers.

Hearts' best chance was, of course, the goal - which Andy Halliday took very well. It came at the end of their best ten-minute period of the game, with Motherwell giving the ball away in their own box.

That won't please Graham Alexander. The Motherwell manager has watched on in frustration as Kevin van Veen, who has had the best chances for the visitors, cannot find a route to goal. Five shots - none on target.

  11. CLOSE!published at 15:48 Greenwich Mean Time 29 January 2022

    Hearts 1-0 Motherwell

Motherwell have been pushing hard for an equaliser and Kevin van Veen has just come very close.

Jordan Roberts whipped it in from the left and the Dutchman glanced it past the post. Again, it looked like a Craig Gordon save but the referee awarded a goal-kick. Don't let the stats fool you, Craig Gordon has made some vital stops.

Having said that Matt O'Riley has impressed since joining Celtic, the former MK Dons midfielder misses an open goal.

James Forrest's low ball finds the Englishman steaming in unmarked only 12 yards out, but he somehow side-foots wide.

  15. GREAT SAVE!published at 15:42 Greenwich Mean Time 29 January 2022

    Celtic 0-0 Dundee United

Matt O'Riley made a big impression on his debut after arriving from MK Dons and this time the midfielder threatens as he curls a drive towards the far corner from 22 yards.

However, United goalkeeper Benjamin Siegrist stretches his full length to push it wide.

  16. CLOSE!published at 15:42 Greenwich Mean Time 29 January 2022

    Hibernian 2-1 Livingston

A clumsy foul is given away by Rocky Bushiri on the edge of his box as he scythes down Alan Forrest as the winger attempts to burst into the box.

From the resulting free-kick, Odin Bailey goes close but fails to work the keeper.

    Celtic 0-0 Dundee United

    Martin Dowden
BBC Sport Scotland at Celtic Park

Celtic are being frustrated here by a Dundee United side who have looked very robust while still offering a threat when they get on the ball.

Giorgis Giakoumakis had the best chance to open the scoring when put through but he couldn’t get the ball down and Calum Butcher nipped in to clear. The Greek striker then almost netted minutes ago from close range but the ball deflected just wide.

United have had purpose. They’ve plugged gaps defensively, managed to keep the ball when possible and offered one or two chances. They’ll be delighted but know Celtic will keep on coming as they look to close in on Rangers.
