  7. Goodwillie sparks Rovers protestspublished at 18:35 Greenwich Mean Time 1 February 2022

Raith Rovers v Queen of the South (19:45)

Championship club Raith Rovers managed to knock Aaron Ramsey off the top of the news bulletins following their acquisition of David Goodwillie from Clyde.

Author Val McDermid has said she will withdraw her support and sponsorship from the Kirkcaldy club in protest at the arrival of the former Scotland striker who was ruled to be a rapist and ordered to pay damages in a civil case in 2017.

First Minister Nicola Sturgeon has also criticised the signing and two club directors have resigned.

Clyde faced a similar furore when they signed Goodwillie five years ago, but after the 32-year-old helped them avoid relegation from League 2, win promotion to League 1 and stay there, many of their fans were left disappointed by his decision to seek a return to full-time football.

Rovers said in a statement that they "respect the differing views among fans and stakeholders" but are sticking by their decision and Goodwillie is having a fitness test at Stark's Park ahead of a possible debut.
