  1. Big Boyle-shaped hole for Hibspublished at 19:36 Greenwich Mean Time 9 February 2022

    Rangers v Hibernian (19:45)

Hibs have gone 14 top flight games without a win against Rangers (5D 9L) but did pull off a 3-1 victory in November's League Cup semi-final at Hampden.

Martin Boyle netted a memorable first-half hat-trick that day and the Easter Road side have toiled without him, failing to score in three of the four Premiership games played since he was sold.

  2. Last Pittodrie win pivotal for Celticpublished at 19:33 Greenwich Mean Time 9 February 2022

    Aberdeen v Celtic (19:45)

Celtic are in a good place just now, brushing Rangers aside to take over at the top of the league and following that with four goals at Fir Park on Sunday.

Ange Postecoglou's pace-setters are now unbeaten in 19 league games and their last visit to Pittodrie was something of a catalyst. Jota's late winner in early October provided the club's first away success in nearly eight months and the team hasn't looked back since.

  3. Will we get a goal in Paisley?published at 19:29 Greenwich Mean Time 9 February 2022

St Mirren v St Johnstone (19:45)

These two have met twice already this season and we're still waiting for a first goal.

Four of the last seven league fixtures have been blanked, while the Perth side have six clean sheets in that sequence.

The visitors have also had two goalless draws in their current three-match unbeaten revival, but the hosts are in great form, with three Premiership wins and a draw so far in 2022 and Jim Goodwin's men have scored in all of those games.

  4. Livi leave it late against Countypublished at 19:27 Greenwich Mean Time 9 February 2022

    Ross County v Livingston (19:45)

Livingston are unbeaten in their last seven meetings with County in all competitions and they scored very late goals to win in Dingwall in October and to salvage a home draw in December.

Since that share of the spoils, the West Lothian side have gone lose-win, lose-win, lose-win in the league.

Since a goalless draw on the opening day of the season, County's home games have averaged almost four goals (21 for, 22 against), with both sides finding the net in 10 of those 11 matches.

  6. 'Reality bites for Aberdeen'published at 19:21 Greenwich Mean Time 9 February 2022

    Aberdeen v Celtic (19.45)

    Tyrone Smith
    BBC Scotland at Pittodrie

Aberdeen may see themselves as a team that should be challenging Celtic in the upper echelons of the table but the harsh reality is they go into this match a massive 31 points behind the league leaders and looking to end a run of four league games without a win.

It's a very different story for the visitors, who arrive in the Granite City in sparkling form, with six Premiership wins on the spin and seven goals in their last two games.

Aberdeen's home form has been good of late but they haven't beaten Celtic at Pittodrie since 2016.

  7. Same again for County; three changes for Livipublished at 19:17 Greenwich Mean Time 9 February 2022

    Ross County v Livingston (19:45)

Malky Mackay opts to keep the same XI which beat Dundee at the weekend with Jordan White leading the line alongside January's player of the month Regan Charles-Cook.

Livingston make three changes as Scott Pittman, Odin Bailey and Joel Nouble take over from Adam Lewis, Bruce Anderson and the suspended Cristian Montano.

  8. Kamara starts for Rangers, Hibs make four changespublished at 19:15 Greenwich Mean Time 9 February 2022

    Rangers v Hibernian (19:45)

Rangers manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst makes just one change from the 5-0 win over Hearts at the weekend.

Ryan Jack picked up an ankle injury in that win and misses out, with Glen Kamara back into the side in his place. Aaron Ramsey is still not fit enough to start and remains on the bench.

Matt Macey returns in goal for Hibernian after missing the last two games. He's one of four changes from the 1-0 home defeat to St Mirren, with Josh Campbell, Chris Mueller and Christian Doidge dropping to the bench with keeper Kevin Dabrowski.

Paul McGinn, Josh Doig and Ewan Henderson come in to what looks like a very defensive set-up.

  9. McDonald plays for first time since July 2020published at 19:12 Greenwich Mean Time 9 February 2022

    Dundee Utd v Motherwell (19:45)

Tam Courts makes one less change than his opposite number tonight with three players changing from United’s goalless draw with St Johnstone. Peter Pawlett is out of the matchday squad while Tim Akinola and Nicky Clark drop to the bench.

Kevin McDonald makes his debut for Dundee United from the start with Ilmari Niskanen and Marc McNulty in for the home side too.

McDonald last played for Fulham in July 2020 and has undergone a kidney transplant since then.

Tony Watt also starts against his former side tonight.

Graham Alexander makes four change to the side that conceded as many against Celtic on Sunday. Dean Cornelius, Kevin van Veen, Jake Carroll, and captain Stephen O’Donnell all drop out for Motherwell.

Juhani Ojala, Kaiyne Woolery, Joe Efford and Jordan Roberts all come into the starting XI tonight.

  10. Brown back for Aberdeen; O'Riley & Jota in for Celticpublished at 19:09 Greenwich Mean Time 9 February 2022

    Aberdeen v Celtic (19:45)

Aberdeen boss Stephen Glass makes a trio of changes after Saturday's defeat at Livingston.

Declan Gallagher drops into defence as ex-Celtic captain Scott Brown and Dylan McGeouch come into midfield.

Adam Montgomery, who can't play against his parent club, Funso Ojo and Teddy Jenks are all out.

As for leaders Celtic, it's just two alterations from the side that thrashed Motherwell on Sunday.

Out goes Tom Rogic for Matt O'Riley in the engine room, while Jota replaces Giorgos Giakoumakis in the frontline.

  11. Sang debut as St Johnstone ring the changespublished at 19:07 Greenwich Mean Time 9 February 2022

St Mirren v St Johnstone (19:45)

Jim Goodwin only makes one change from the side that beat Hibs at the weekend. Alex Gogic was ineligible to face his parent club that day but he's in from the start tonight, replacing Jay Henderson.

Just the five changes for St Johnstone...

Tom Sang comes in for his debut and is expected to slot in at right wing-back. Tony Gallacher, Murray Davidson, Cammy MacPherson and Glenn Middleton are also in from the start.

Melker Hallberg is suspended following his red card against Dundee United, with Jason Brown, Jacob Butterfield and Stevie May dropping to the bench. Callum Booth misses out completely.

  12. Souttar returns, Dundee change keeperpublished at 19:04 Greenwich Mean Time 9 February 2022

    Hearts v Dundee (19:45)

Hearts make four changes for this evening's visit of Dundee, including John Souttar's return to the defence.

Andy Halliday and Peter Haring are added to the midfield following Sunday's 5-0 loss away to Rangers while Ellis Simms joins the attack. Nathan Atkinson misses out while Cammy Devlin, Alex Cochrane and Aaron McEneff drop to the bench.

Four alterations also for Dundee, including in goal where Ian Lawlor takes over from Adam Legzdins while Josh Mulligan, Charlie Adam and Danny Millen also earn starts.

Vontae Daley-Campbell is suspended while Max Anderson and Niall McGinn drop to the bench, where new signing Zeno Ibsen Rossi also has a place.

  13. Rangers aim to stretch SWPL leadpublished at 19:01 Greenwich Mean Time 9 February 2022

Rangers will be expected to extend their advantage at the top of SWPL1 when they host bottom club Hamilton Academical this evening.

Malky Thomson's side are unbeaten this season and laid down a significant marker by beating defending champions Glasgow City at the weekend.

  20. Ayrshire derby tops Championship billpublished at 18:49 Greenwich Mean Time 9 February 2022

It's a big night in the Championship too, with four of the top five in action.

Arbroath, the only part-time team in the division, show no signs of dropping off. Dick Campbell's side had a wee stutter at the start of the year but have since seen off Raith Rovers and Kilmarnock to strengthen their position at the top.

Inverness Caley Thistle are winless in seven games, while Partick Thistle are playing catch-up with all of their games in hand.

Kilmarnock have won both previous Ayrshire derbies this season and really can't let Arbroath get much further ahead if they have aspirations of going straight back up as champions.
