    Preston 0-0 Blackpool

Some concern here as Blackpool goalkeeper Daniel Grimshaw is down and getting some treatment after colliding with Preston striker Cameron Archer.

  3. League One latestpublished at 19:57 British Summer Time 5 April 2022

A flying start for Oxford in their long trip north to Morecambe where striker Matt Taylor has shown his predatory skills in the box to put them one up.

Fellow play-off chasers Wycombe have also made the ideal start as former Wales international Sam Vokes has grabbed the opener in their game at Cambridge.

  4. CLOSE!published at 19:57 British Summer Time 5 April 2022

    Peterborough United 0-0 Luton Town

An early couple of chances for Peterborough, the first from a corner. Up jumps captain Frankie Kent with a good header, which Luton keeper James Shea palms onto the post.

It comes back out into play and a minute later Shea is forced into a second save, this time from Harrison Burrows who takes a shot from distance.

    BIG early goal!

The hosts take the lead with one straight off the training ground.

John Fleck takes a corner kick and rolls it into the area where a Blade dummies it and Ollie Norwood runs in behind to slot home a cool finish from 18 yards out.

Rotherham are still celebrating their success in Sunday's Papa Johns Trophy final over Sutton United, but they will have a close eye on proceedings in League One tonight.

If Wigan and MK Dons both win their home games this evening, the Millers will slip down to third. They have been top since 29 January and at one stage had a 10-point cushion over third.

  8. KICK-OFFpublished at 19:45 British Summer Time 5 April 2022

We're under way in all-but two of this evening's EFL games.

This should be a busy one...

  9. League Two fixturespublished at 19:43 British Summer Time 5 April 2022

Both games kick off at 19:45 BST

Just a duo of games in League Two but two tasty morsels nonetheless.

League leaders Forest Green have recorded successive wins after a very indifferent run but will face a stern test again Nigel Clough's Mansfield.

Two of the form sides in the division meet at the Peninsula Stadium as Salford, on the back of four straight wins, welcome third-placed Port Vale.

    • Forest Green Rovers v Mansfield Town
    • Salford City v Port Vale
  10. League One fixturespublished at 19:41 British Summer Time 5 April 2022

All games kick off at 19:45 BST, unless stated

It's potentially a pivotal night in League One.

Second-placed Wigan will go top with victory over Accrington Stanley, while MK Dons will go into the top two if they can beat lowly Crewe at home.

Play-off chasing Wycombe could clamber back into the top six with a win at Cambridge.

Struggling Morecambe claimed a vital win at the weekend and will look to make it back-to-back successes with a victory against Oxford and AFC Wimbledon desperately need to end their wretched form against Charlton to boost their flagging survival hopes.

In the late kick-off, Bolton host Portsmouth with both sides looking set for another season at this level.

    • AFC Wimbledon v Charlton Athletic
    • Cambridge United v Wycombe Wanderers
    • Fleetwood Town v Lincoln City
    • Milton Keynes Dons v Crewe Alexandra
    • Morecambe v Oxford United
    • Wigan Athletic v Accrington Stanley

  11. Derby set to name Chris Kirchner as preferred bidderpublished at 19:38 British Summer Time 5 April 2022

Good news for Derby fans today, as US businessman Chris Kirchner is set to be named as the preferred bidder to take over the club within the next 24 hours.

His offer for the Championship club comes three months after he withdrew an initial bid to take the Rams out of administration.

He revived his interest in relegation-threatened Derby after takeover talks with fellow second-tier side Preston North End collapsed last week.

Derby manager Wayne Rooney backed Kirchner's attempt to buy the club when the American first showed interest last year.

  12. Championship fixturespublished at 19:35 British Summer Time 5 April 2022

All games kick off at 19:45 BST, unless stated

Five games in the second tier this evening.

Millwall are four points off the play-offs and they'll hope to close that gap with victory over a Swansea side who will be buzzing from their thumping 4-0 victory at rivals Cardiff on Saturday.

Peterborough's slim survival hopes were battered at the weekend as they fell to a 4-0 home defeat by play-off chasing Middlesbrough - they welcome fourth-placed Luton tonight and will be desperate to avoid a repeat of that.

Oddly, the game with the least riding on it from a promotion/relegation perspective is the one that fans of both teams will have been looking forward to since the summer. Blackpool make the short journey to rivals Preston, with bragging rights on the agenda.

Sheffield United welcome QPR with both teams looking to bounce back from weekend defeats. The Blades are still right in the top-six shake-up, while the R's are just a couple of points back but are in pretty poor form.

Reading's late equaliser at fellow strugglers Barnsley on Saturday means they start today in a much better position than if they'd lost. Stoke's season is bound for mid-table but they're in good form.

    • Millwall v Swansea City
    • Peterborough United v Luton Town
    • Preston North End v Blackpool
    • Sheffield United v Queens Park Rangers
    • Reading v Stoke City (20:00 BST)
