  2. McInnes: 'Kyle had top-flight offers'published at 17:35 Greenwich Mean Time 26 March 2022

    FT: Kilmarnock 2-1 Partick Thistle

On his striker Kyle Lafferty, Kilmarnock boss Derek McInnes reveals he had offers from the top-flight and other Championship clubs — who could have perhaps offered more than the Ayrshire side.

McInnes said: "Kyle came here and he’s on the same wages as everyone else, he didn’t ask for anything, his demands weren’t anything bigger than what the club pay.

"We told him that we wanted him to come to try and help us and he had offers from one Premiership club and two or three other Championship sides, who potentially could have paid a wee bit more but we stuck to our guns and we told him he importance of him playing his part for us.

"He felt a bit of an obligation from the last time he was here in the team that got relegated and he has been first class for me. I am absolutely loving working with the boy!"

  3. 'Lessons to learn with five games to go' for McInnespublished at 17:32 Greenwich Mean Time 26 March 2022

    FT: Kilmarnock 2-1 Partick Thistle

Kilmarnock manager Derek McInnes tells BBC Scotland: "I thought we did deserve to win. My keeper’s not had a save to make until the dying embers of it.

“There wasn’t a lot happening first half except a piece of magic from Kyle [Lafferty].

“We were punished for a bit of slackness when we conceded and that made it the type of game it was for the last few minutes.

“Today is a lesson for the team that on another day it might have cost us. With five games to go, we need to learn a lesson from how we finished the game today, not the performance beforehand."

  6. Lafferty: 'We knew it would be tough today'published at 17:21 Greenwich Mean Time 26 March 2022

    FT: Kilmarnock 2-1 Partick Thistle

Kilmarnock striker Kyle Lafferty tells BBC Scotland: “It was important we picked up three points today, we knew it would be tough and that they’d come here and try to cause an upset

“Out work-rate and professionalism came through in the end after a slightly slow start.

“Rory [McKenzie] has that pass in him and thankfully I got that touch and finish in.

“Our overall performance was enough, we can still improve, but at the end of the day, we got the three points."
