So a team doesn't roll over and concede defeat before they kick off and suddenly it is the fault of the referee, the opposition, the weather? Everton to get an 88th minute winner...

Liverpool fans shout for handball as Mohamed Salah's ball hits the arm of Vitalii Mykolenko but the referee says play on. It wasn't in the box anyway.
Jordan Pickford catches Trent Alexander-Arnold's cross and takes about 30 seconds to release the ball.

I'm a Leeds fan so I want Everton to lose, but those people bemoaning their style of play, do you want them to just come to Anfield and roll over? It's up to the ref to stop the gamesmanship, Everton are in a relegation battle and should do anything they can to get something from the game.

I wonder as a live text commentator if I'm meant to say I hate scraps like the TV commentators always do. Because I don't hate them.

As a neutral this is a fantastic game, everything you can ask for in a derby, scraps and all... although I'm getting tired at Richarlison and Pickford, all that time wasting and diving needs to stop during the second half.

Andy Robertson wins an early corner as his cross hits Demarai Gray. Can Liverpool start this half with their first shot on target?
No.
It's half-cleared to Naby Keita, who volleys well wide.

As a neutral, I think that in an incredibly short-time, Lampard has sent Everton's poor standard plummeting to Mourinho-esque 'dark' tactics. Shameful. Everton fans should be appalled and embarrassed. Deserved relegation beckons.

The second half begins. Can Everton keep *that* up for 45 more minutes?
Liverpool 0-0 Everton
Everton have completed 32 passes, the fewest by a team in the opening half of a Premier League game since November 2006 (30 by Watford against Portsmouth).

We expected so much from Liverpool, but Everton's tactics have ben perfect. They've been frustrating to watch and frustrating to play against. Frank Lampard will be getting his players in at half time and saying 'job well done'.

FT: Chelsea 1-0 West Ham
West Ham United
West Ham boss David Moyes, speaking to BBC Sport: "I think for what we had done today, to make it difficult, which we did for most of the game, we didn't quite have enough.
"I think Daws should have met the ball and not given the ref a decision. If you are going to wrestle with players you give refs a decision to make. He had played very well before that. I thought it was our day to get something. A point would have been important for us. Coming here is never easy. We were very close.
"We hung in the game. We didn't have loads of chances. It is the first time we have chosen to change some of our stronger players. With the game midweek I felt it was important. We have ben in good shape and spirits all year. We shouldn't be downbeat by today. We need to play better. When you have a period with these upcoming games it is difficult. This time you need a strong squad and to give some players a break. The other players did a great job today."
FT: Burnley 1-0 Wolves
Burnley
Burnley caretaker boss Mike Jackson speaking to Sky Sports: "We are delighted. When the goal goes in, the roof comes off. I can only give credit to the players, the way they've gone about it. It is three games in a short space of time, and they brought the crowd with them and they responded.
"I wanted them to take confidence from Southampton and West Ham and to enjoy the challenge, enjoy being part of what is coming up. For us, there is still a long way to go, we've got a group who is fighting for each other and they've brought the place together. There is a positive feeling and that comes from results, that builds momentum and belief. We've got to try and keep that going.
"It is a terrific goal, but it was an open game and there were chances for both. We are delighted with the clean sheet, that is two in a row now."
FT: Chelsea 1-0 West Ham
Chelsea
Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel, speaking to BBC Sport: "We knew this can be a game when we need to be patient and disciplined not to concede a counter attack. I don't know if there is another way to beat them. They are used to defending with bodies and discipline. They don't allow a lot. When you get a late penalty you think you have it. But another setback. After that is a relief to get the result."
On Jorginho: "He has ben perfect for us. I do not have a lot of hair to pull out of my head. But this is the moment. We have half chances and blocked shots. Finally you have the big chance and Jorgi on the pitch, who is brilliant for us. It is hard to come back and not lose confidence.
"It is a deserved clean sheet and disciplined performance. There were key players missing in attacking transition for them. But we needed a clean sheet and home win to release the pressure and tension. The atmosphere is now good. This is good for confidence."
FT: Brighton 2-2 Southampton
Southampton
Southampton manager Ralph Hasenhuttl: "In the first half everything was going against us. We lost an early goal, hit the post with a big chance to equalise and then had a really bad injury for Tino [Livramento], which is the most disappointing thing today. Then we conceded again but I still had the feeling it was not so bad and that's why we didn’t change anything.
"We showed real character and deserved the equaliser. In the second, we were very dominant for 30 minutes, playing towards our fans who made it feel like a home game for us. The last 15 mins, it looked like we'd used a lot of energy and they had a few moments. But both teams showed they wanted to win the game and it was good to watch for people.
On Livramento's injury: "He’s very frustrated because he knows it could be a long break out. He will come back stronger. I'm not yet sure what he has done but it doesn’t look good."
On two-goal James Ward-Prowse:"We know about his qualities, especially from free-kicks. It’s very important to have someone like him on pitch to bring us back into the game."
On the run-in: "I want to see that same willingness and character to not give up and to try and take the points. You could feel it today with our togetherness and with teams around us to play, we want to win some of those games."
FT: Chelsea 1-0 West Ham
West Ham United
West Ham boss David Moyes, speaking to Sky Sports: "Brilliant energy and effort. They have done fantastically well. Lots of players who have not played regularly today. It was just a bit of learning how to win games, or get draws at the end. It has let us down a bit this year."
On the penalty: "I think it is relatively soft. He [Craig Dawson] should have gone and met the ball instead of trying to wrestle the player. I am more disappointed with him that the referee.
"I was thinking we have a real chance to see it out after the penalty. But we done well but not well enough to warrant more. A draw would have been a good result.
"The way things have gone today was the first time in the Premier League we have changed the team around to ready them for a cup game. It is one of the biggest games for the club in a long time. I want players to be ready but it is difficult with important league games in the middle.
"There are a lot of headaches. But if this game was on Saturday maybe that would have eased some headaches."
FT: Burnley 1-0 Wolves
Wolves
Wolves boss Bruno Lage speaking to Sky Sports: "We were the better team and we controlled the game, but the frustration and disappointment is we challenged the players with six games to go. We have a big chance to push for Europe again and we didn't score; we created chances, but we should have created more. Burnley created a chance from our mistake and scored. The game is simple and I've seen this too many times from my team.
"We know it is hard to play here; two days ago when they play against Southampton, the way they played in the first half, and we dominated from the start. One mistake and they score one goal."
Let's bring you some reaction from the earlier games.

The referee is shocking he's losing control. Absolutely ridiculous Everton time wasting.
