Liverpool battered Chelsea for the first 15 minutes, they should have been two goals up but they missed two big chances.

To be fair to Chelsea, they settled themselves down, got back into the game, played their way back into the game and it was them who were then creating the big chances.

I don't know how it's 0-0 - poor finishing really.

Neither team has been clinical enough. Chelsea have just grounded things out and held on. They've even caused Liverpool some problems. It's a bit of a basketball match.

Andy asked us on #bbcfootball how many fouls Jorginho has committed - two. The Italian has been fouled four times though.

Liverpool have committed five of the nine fouls in the game. Four of them against Jorginho. They must not like him.

When you think about how many games they have played this season, they have given us a good first half.

I think for the first 30 minutes Liverpool were superb. Chelsea have come back into it. In the final third neither side has made that final pass.

Liverpool burst out of the blocks. But Chelsea wrestled their way back into it. All to play for.

Romelu Lukaku is found by Jorginho. He has enough space to fire a shot with his left boot, but sends his effort over the bar.

Like Jota, he should have done better.

He doesn't have to do a lot with that, Diogo Jota, the keeper is committed and he just has to hit the target.

A big, big chance for a player who is usually a very good finisher.

Jamie: I still fancy Diaz to get in today. Chelsea have no idea what to do with him.

Mateo Kovacic has a shocker, standing on the ball to loose it. Liverpool drive forward, reach the Chelsea box, bide their time and then work it wide for a cross that finds Diogo Jota unmarked.

He sticks out his boot but sends the ball over the bar.

Should have done better.

Diogo Jota can't believe it! He thinks he is away, but play is stopped for a foul on Jorginho by Naby Keita.

Just a minute of normal time to go in this half. It's zipped by, to be fair.

Christian Pulisic went very close with his effort earlier. How close? Well, watch for yourself...

You can see Chelsea's growing belief in their approach. It is bearing fruit too.

The Blues break and Romelu Lukuku is found in the box. He has Reds players for company and looks to chip a ball to Christian Pulisic, but doesn't get enough height on it.

After their team's lively start, it's gone quiet in the Liverpool end which has not been helped by the loss of Mohamed Salah to injury against his old club.

Jurgen Klopp put an arm around the forward, who is making his 100th club appearance since the start of last season, as he came off.

The question on the lips of all Liverpool fans with two league matches and a Champions League final to follow after this is: How serious is the injury?

Finlay: After that initial Liverpool onslaught I think Chelsea will be feeling more confident out the two teams. Watch Chelsea sneak this one.

Mark: Liverpool have looked leggy in the second half of recent games, understandably. Huge for Chelsea that they survived the initial onslaught.

Don't get me wrong, this is hardly the 1970 FA Cup, but it is very pleasing to see two teams prepared to go into the trenches and win the ball when needed.

As always, could do with less of the attempts to get free-kicks off the ref when a ball is won.
