USA certainly didn't deserve to lose tonight, they deserved something from the game.
They were hesitant at the start, maybe because of what England did to Iran in the first game, but once they saw what England were about they were prepared to have a go.

Anon: I worry this performance will convince Southgate to return to a back five and dull cautious football.
Nick: Frustrating? Try pathetic. Weak. Slow. Embarrassing. Turgid. Shocking. Frustrating isn’t the word.
Anon: 'Just don't lose' they keep saying.... Whatever happened to just going out and playing for the win. Poor attitude. Poor performance. Poor result.

That result won't suit Wales at all.

If you want to take a positive from that as an England fan, the draw is better for the Three Lions than the US. So long as Gareth Southgate's side don't lose by more than four goals in their final group game with Wales they will qualify.
They will need to beat Rob Page's team to ensure top spot.

There just wasn't the quality in that game. That suited USA and the way they played.

They play the ball down the line and a tackle takes the ball out of play.
Boos greet the full-time whistle.
Get out the Men in Black zapper thing and erase this from your memory.

Now the US have a free-kick in the England half. Last chance to nick it.

Adam: At the World Cup, a goalless draw should be zero points. That will stop teams playing out bore draws, and will add more excitement to the group stages.

Oh Harry, there is your moment!
Luke Shaw whips in a superb cross and Harry Kane meets it but nods wide. He was in a group of players but a player of his quality should hit the target.

That's a silly foul.
Tyler Adams shoves over Jack Grealish on the left in the US half and England have a chance to snatch an undeserved win.

Harry Maguire wins another header, this time in the USA box but he nods it down and it makes for an easy gather for Matt Turner.

Gareth Southgate will praise the defending. He wanted a clean sheet after the first game. I suspect that will be the starting point.
This has been a tough test for England. They have not played well.

England hearts in mouths.
Shaq Moore is found in space on the right, but to England's relief his low ball is poor and cut out.
