That was the old camera save from Emi Martinez. Nice technique from the free-kick, no great pace on it and Martinez leaps to the right hand side.

That's one for the mantelpiece when he moves back to Buenos Aires. That's standard - a six-out-of-ten save.

He is replaced by PSV Eindhoven midfielder Erick Gutierrez.

Lautaro Martínez heads over from Angel di María's delivery. The Argentina forward has his hands in his head but the referee's whistle had gone.

He obviously spotted the shove on Cesar Montes as the ball came in.

You'd sack the goalie if that went in. I know he's played at numerous World Cups and saved Lewandowski's penalty in Mexico's first game.

The free-kick is just fed in, left-footed with no pace on the ball. The goalkeeper's punched it up in the air, then won a free-kick. Goalkeepers are over-protected.

Just watching that back Guillermo Ochoa nearly made a bit of a hash of that. Will a goalkeeping error play a part in this game?

Hardly safe-as-houses stuff.

You sense this could bubble over. That's a really daft challenge by Vega, coming off his feet on De Paul, who was trying to drive past him.

Vega lunges and I'm surprised he wasn't booked. The referees have let a lot go in this tournament.

Andres Guardado is showing all the energy of an 18-year-old.

The Mexico skipper does not look a veteran of five World Cup tournaments at the moment and has made more tackles than any other player on the park so far.

Not bad for a 36-year-old.

Lionel Messi is down on the deck after being dumped to the ground. He looks up as if to say 'come on ref'.

It's an incredible atmosphere with both sets of fans making noise - but they need the players on the pitch to make a noise as well.

We haven't had any goalmouth action. We've been bigging this game up with what's at stake: Messi's last World Cup. We want to go out with a bang.

Both teams are really putting in a shift and it's very much a case of defences on top.

Mexico are paying Messi such close attention. He's playing in that central striker position but really starting to drift.

He has to influence this game because Mexico have been so comfortable at the back. They're frustrating Argentina so far.

In general for Argentina, everything is going through the middle - and it's so, so congested with three centre-halves giving protection in front.

More than 25 minutes gone in Qatar and we've only had one attempt between the two sides.

It came from Mexico's Cesar Montes and as you can see, he didn't manage to hit the target.
