    Saudi Arabia 0-0 Mexico

Mexico are knocking on the door. And the door is Saudi Arabia's goal. No answer yet though.

Orbelin Pineda throws himself at the ball at the back post but his diving header hits Sultan Al Ghannam before the Saudis clear.

    Poland 0-0 Argentina

Nicolas Otamendi takes no prisoners. He slides in on Przemyslaw Frankowski to win the ball and also catch a bit of the man. Just a foul, no card.

  3. Stalemates suiting Polandpublished at 19:27 Greenwich Mean Time 30 November 2022

More than halfway through the first periods in the final Group C games.

And the lack of goals is suiting Poland, who will go through to a last-16 meeting with Australia as things stand.

Argentina on course for a clash with France... surely something they would prefer to avoid.

It was a routine save in the end but I'm not sure it should have been. Saudi Arabia were struggling to clear their lines and it was a decent chance for Pineda. Should have done better.

    Poland 0-0 Argentina

Robert Lewandowski does get a ball to chase. He uses his strength to hold off an Argentine defender but out comes the boot of the man in purple and the Polish attack ends.

    Saudi Arabia 0-0 Mexico

Mexico are having a go here. Hirving Lozano finds Henry Martin, who cuts the ball across the box. Orbelin Pineda runs onto it but his shot is deflected back to the Saudi keeper.

Anon: I've seen Di Maria play for Madrid, Man Utd, PSG and Argentina. I've literally never seen him play well. In fact I've only ever seen him play incredibly poorly. Never seen him actually get by a player. Which considering is all he ever tried to do, isn't great. Where has his price tag and reputation come from. His agent?

Lewandowski certainly hasn't had the service he would wish so far. He is an isolated man up top.

It's important that Poland give Lewandowski some good balls to hold onto because there is excellent tenacity from the centre backs for Argentina.

Saudi Arabia are well organised, the unit is so tight together. Mexico will need to do well to play through Saudi Arabia.

Mexico pass the ball round the box for a bit and then Luis Chavez has a go with a 25-yard volley but it's straight at the keeper.

Set plays and crosses into the box might be an area where Poland think they can get some joy. They've got some big lads. Zielinski puts some great crosses in with either foot, he is in great form for Napoli.

Argentina have been the better side so far. Here is their best chance...

The Poland corner is headed away easily by Julian Alvarez.

The Poles are able to recover possession and get another cross in but Kamil Glik can only stick out a leg to flick the ball up and into the grasp of Emi Martinez.

    Saudi Arabia 0-0 Mexico

Mexico had 73.3% possession over the opening 15 minutes of the game.

Putting the ball in the back of the net is proving a lot trickier.

Good from Matty Cash, that's the first time we have seen a burst from him using the pace and power we see in the Premier League. Him and Zielinski should be causing Argentina problems.

Herve Renard, has to be the slickest man in Doha.

Crisp white shirt without a single crease on it, black jeans and then the black loafers with white soles.

    Immaculate fashion sense.

When Poland get forward, it is overwhelmingly down the right.

Piotr Zielinski is clearly their preferred outlet - getting the ball to him is another matter.
