  1. Both teams needing a winpublished at 19:01 British Summer Time 11 May 2022

    Leeds v Chelsea (19:30 BST)

It's a big game for Leeds, who are in the Premier League's bottom three for the first time since 30 October.

They have lost all 11 league fixtures this season against teams currently in the top six of the table too, conceding 44 goals in the process.

Meanwhile, Chelsea are winless in three matches, drawing with Wolves and Manchester United, as well as losing to Everton.

It means Tottenham are now just five points behind them in fifth so there is a little work to do for Chelsea to secure a top-four finish.

I thought that because Norwich were already down, they might have just gone out against West Ham on Sunday and played with a bit of freedom - but that didn't happen. Instead, the Canaries just got taken apart.

Leicester lost too, despite putting a strong team out against Everton. We saw again how Brendan Rodgers' side just cannot defend set-pieces, whoever is in their side. They should still have too much for Norwich though.

    Prediction: 2-0

My first reaction when I heard that Manchester City had agreed to sign Erling Haaland was just 'wow!'

What a brilliant bit of business to strike a deal now, and what an unbelievable signing he will be.

I don't want to say he is the missing piece in their team, because City have been excellent for the past couple of seasons anyway while mostly doing without a recognised striker, but he will add a whole new dimension to their play.

  10. 'Everton edging closer'published at 18:38 British Summer Time 11 May 2022

    Watford v Everton (19:45 BST)

    Mark Lawrenson
    BBC football expert

Everton are going for their third win on the spin. If they get it, they would be very close to being sure of staying up - they are playing well anyway, and their application is completely different to how it was earlier in the campaign.

It's a good time for them to be playing Watford too. We already know Hornets boss Roy Hodgson is leaving in the summer and it appears many of their players are thinking the same thing.

    Prediction: 0-2

  11. 'That double downs the deceit'published at 18:35 British Summer Time 11 May 2022

    Watford v Everton (19:45 BST)

    Watford

Forest Green Rovers owner Dale Vince said he was "overwhelmingly disappointed" with Watford.

The relegated Premier League side have named Rob Edward as their new manager and Vince said it was "deceit" from Watford.

He claims they moved for Edwards without contacting Forest Green.

"People come and go in football all the time. The important thing is the manner of it. Disappointed is what I told [Edward]," Vince told Sky Sports.

"He did apologise. I am just overwhelmingly disappointed. I wish him well. It's poor from Watford, Rob as well.

"The proper way to do things is for the club to approach us. Watford advised Rob not to tell us, specifically. That double downs on the deceit."

Watford may be down but they've moved pretty quickly to get the man who they hope will get them back up in place.

The Hornets have appointed former Forest Green Rovers boss Rob Edwards as their new manager for the upcoming 2022-23 Championship season.

The confirmation follows Edwards' departure from Rovers, the club he has just led to the League Two title.

Current Watford boss Roy Hodgson is due to leave the Hornets at the end of the current campaign.

In a statement, Watford said: "Rob had a contractual provision allowing him to leave Forest Green Rovers at any time to discuss employment opportunities at other clubs."

Forest Green had earlier said negotiations between Watford and Edwards took place "behind our backs".

    Good evening!

Another day, another round of Premier League fixtures in which there's still plenty to play for at both ends of the table.

After Liverpool beat Aston Villa last night, Manchester City are in action at Wolves this evening as they look to restore their three-point lead at the top of the table.

Top-four chasing Chelsea are at Leeds, who need wins to get out of the relegation zone while Everton will look to continue their push for survival at already-relegated Watford.

    Plenty going on!

  19. The missing piece of the jigsaw?published at 18:14 British Summer Time 11 May 2022

After months of speculation, Manchester City finally landed their man yesterday.

The reigning Premier League champions confirmed an agreement had been reached to sign Erling Haaland from Borussia Dortmund this summer.

With the addition of an outrageously prolific striker it could make Pep Guardiola's side a frightening prospect in all competitions next season.

But right now, there's still a title race to complete and that will be their focus today as they continue their bid for a sixth Premier League trophy.
