  2. 'I love playing with them'published at 22:42 British Summer Time 11 May 2022

    FT: Wolves 1-5 Man City

    Manchester City

Manchester City midfielder Kevin de Bruyne to BBC Sport: "It was a great start from the team and myself. I thought we played a good game away so I'm very happy with the team.

"I try to understand the situation better. If my team makes the movements I try and find them. The connection with the team has been exceptional and that's why I love playing with them.

"We alternated really well. Whenever Bernardo Silva or Phil Foden was going into the space, we went vice versa. Whenever we had opportunities in the first half we scored and that changed the dynamic of the game.

"Whenever [Liverpool] play you watch the game or the scores. Both teams have the most respect because we know how hard it is and we've been doing it for years. Whenever we play we have to play the game we play. That's what we did today and we will have to do the same against West Ham.

"West Ham had a great season and played really well. It is their last home game of the season so we know it will be a tough one. We don't have a lot of players but now it is commitment but it is going to be hard."

  3. 'With that De Bruyne performance you can't do anything'published at 22:40 British Summer Time 11 May 2022

    FT: Wolves 1-5 Man City

    Wolves

Wolves first-team coach Carlos Cachada: "When you have players like De Bruyne, who can always change the game, you can have a strategy but when it comes to players like this they can score four goals and finish the game.

"With that performance we can do nothing about it.

"We had a good response to the first goal. Suddenly they scored two goals quite quickly and we lost a bit. We tried all the time to come back, we can't so this is the final result.

"We look game by game. We will try to collect as much points as we can. We have six points to fight for.

"We always tried to be a threat to the other team, even when we were losing."

  4. 'Unstoppable, brilliant, awesome, outstanding, perfect De Bruyne'published at 22:37 British Summer Time 11 May 2022

    FT: Wolves 1-5 Man City

    Manchester City

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola, asked by BBC Sport if Kevin de Bruyne produced one of the best midfield displays: "Absolutely.

"He made quite often in the last this season especially in the second half he has made similar displays today but today he scored four goals. Unstoppable, brilliant, awesome outstanding, perfect.

"He had the ability to create the special things.

"Always we push him to say he is incredible player, generous with assists but he has to score goals and this season is the most prolific he has had since we are together."

Improved goal difference to Liverpool, is that important? "The target is next game. If we win the next two games we will be champions. Now recover the players and play a final, the final for us is against West Ham."

Remarkable group, isn't it? "One of the best I have ever had."

Let's not forget City we're 14 points clear in January, credit to Liverpool for getting this far but it was always too much for them to rely on City to drop so many points. Our league is slowly turning into a one team show.

  7. 'It's not a bad night for us'published at 22:28 British Summer Time 11 May 2022

    FT: Watford 0-0 Everton

    Everton

Everton manager Frank Lampard speaking to Sky Sports: "There is work to be done but if you look at our recent results we have put ourselves in a decent position.

"There were not enough clear chances. But if you are not at your best you need to make sure you pick up a point. That is not something we've done often enough this season.

"Watford had players playing with something to lose. They had nothing on the game and sometimes that can be difficult to come against. They gave us a game."

On whether he was paying attention to the Leeds United result: "At half-time and at the end of the game I was told the result. You can't control that but all in all it's not a bad night.

"It doesn't always go your way but if it doesn't, you take the clean sheet and move on."

  8. 'De Bruyne is outstanding'published at 22:25 British Summer Time 11 May 2022

    FT: Wolves 1-5 Man City

    Manchester City

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola, speaking to Sky Sports: "We played really well in this stadium we know how difficult it is. Three points, rest and then West Ham."

On Kevin de Bruyne: "He has played the last two or three months especially in the Premier League outstanding, and in the Champions League as well. He has been our key man in this part of the season.

"It is not just what he creates and the goals and everything. He helps us a lot. I am happy because Kevin is so generous and always thinking the best for the team but this year is also the most prolific for him.

"Always we concede a goal when we don't deserve. In that moment we were in control. We concede goal but after we found a goal quickly and that helped us a lot."

On Haaland signing: "It is a decision for the club to make a good sign for the future. He can come for many, many years hopefully and I am pretty sure he will adapt perfectly to our team but for next season.

"The players make you a good manager. He is an incredible young talent, perfect age. I am pretty sure we are going to help him settle as best possible."

  9. 'Leeds won't be taking confidence into last games'published at 22:23 British Summer Time 11 May 2022

    FT: Leeds 0-3 Chelsea

    Paul Robinson
Former England goalkeeper on BBC Radio 5 Live Sports Extra

Leeds were poor, they caused themselves a lot of problems.

They’ve got a real problem with discipline. Luke Ayling sending off at the weekend, and Dan James’ inexplicable tackle tonight.

You have to question the manager and how he sets the team up, playing their most creative attacking player Raphinha as a right wing-back.

They won’t be taking a lot of confidence into their last two games.

  10. 'We want to finish as high as we can'published at 22:20 British Summer Time 11 May 2022

    FT: Leicester 3-0 Norwich

    Leicester City

Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers: "I thought it was a good win for us. Bit slow in the first half, both in our game with the ball and our counter pressing. We were not aggressive enough but in the second half from the first roll of the ball I thought the players were outstanding.

"Overall very pleased for the players. Angus made some great saves. We finished the game really well. Really good goals. We kept going right to the end.

"Jamie has missed a lot of games this season but it is more about the collective. The finishes were great, we always have to manage him. For us it is about the team."

Aim to finish the season strongly? "That's the plan, finish as high as we can. We didn't want the season to go out with a whimper. Tonight was a good performance and a good result."

  13. 'Display of Premier League champions'published at 22:15 British Summer Time 11 May 2022

    FT: Wolves 1-5 Man City

    Chris Sutton
Former Premier League striker on BBC Radio 5 Live

I think the display by Manchester City tonight was a display of Premier League champions.

I thought it was a tough task before the game but 5-1 was really emphatic.

Disappointed with the Champions League, they are saying the Premier League is ours with that performance.

    FT: Wolves 1-5 Man City

    Chris Sutton
Former Premier League striker on BBC Radio 5 Live

He was brilliant. Kevin de Bruyne was cunning.

Manchester City were far too good. They are going to see [the title] through now.

This was a display of dominance, of real authority. They were so good in all areas of the pitch.

It looks like there is no stopping them.

Just spotted the first Haaland shirt in the City away end. It's an old shirt with his dad's name on the back by the looks of it. Nice.

  17. 'It is a point gained'published at 22:10 British Summer Time 11 May 2022

    FT: Watford 0-0 Everton

    Everton

Everton manager Frank Lampard speaking to BBC Sport: "It is a point gained - on paper that is what it is. We have taken well deserved wins against tough opposition (in Chelsea and Leicester City). No disrespect to Watford but we maybe expected to come here and win again but the Premier League doesn't work that way.

"It's typical of this stage of the season and the tense nature of the match. We played three days ago, the players put a lot into that and they need a rest tomorrow before looking ahead to Sunday."

On the supporters: "They are extraordinary. They are pushing, along with the players. They will stick with us.

"It's important the players rest now before two games on the bounce at Goodison. We have to fight. We know what we need now."

  18. FULL-TIMEpublished at 22:07 British Summer Time 11 May 2022

    Wolves 1-5 Man City

Manchester City extend their lead at the top of the table by three points and increase their goal difference advantage.

Kevin de Bruyne with FOUR goals.

  19. 'Vardy and Maddison outstanding'published at 22:05 British Summer Time 11 May 2022

    FT: Leicester 3-0 Norwich

    Leicester City

Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers, speaking to BBC Sport: "We gave up too much space in the first half. We were not aggressive enough in our pressing. We changed the structure of our team and from the first kick in the second half we were really dominant. We scored good goals and the intensity was there. A good performance and a clean sheet."

On Jamie Vardy: "He was outstanding tonight, his physicality, his running and pressing. The second goal was classic really. We worked it really well. Jamie does what he does. James Maddison scored a really good goal, he was outstanding this evening.

"Maddison has been our best player this season in terms of his efficiency. He had a spell out of the team but since he has come back everything about his game has improved over time. He was outstanding. Really pleased for him."

On Wesley Fofana missing the game: "Tight calf. Quick turnaround in games. His calf was a little tight and we felt it was too much of a risk. He will be fit for the weekend."
