  1. goal

GOAL - Leicester 1-0 Southamptonpublished at 17:04 British Summer Time 22 May 2022

    James Maddison (50 mins)

It's a terrible defensive header from Lyanco which goes straight up into the air.

Jamie Vardy wins it, is through one-on-one with the keeper but is denied. James Maddison comes in for the rebound and slots it into an empty net.

    Norwich 0-2 Spurs

Two bits of good defending by Eric Dier stop Teemu Pukki twice in about 30 seconds. A Norwich goal might just see a bit of doubt creep in.

  3. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 17:03 British Summer Time 22 May 2022

    Brighton 0-1 West Ham

Brighton bring on Neal Maupay for Yves Bissouma at the break.

As things stand they would finish 13th - their joint best top-flight season.

    HT: Liverpool 1-1 Wolves

Former Everton goalkeeper John Ruddy is warming up at Anfield. Wolves keeper Jose Sa was down injured during that first half.

    Could Ruddy be coming on?

  6. 'Conte will keep Spurs focused'published at 16:58 British Summer Time 22 May 2022

    HT: Norwich 0-2 Spurs

    Stephen Kelly
Former Tottenham defender on BBC Radio 5 Live

Very comfortable, professional performance from Tottenham. Norwich have had one or two chances but Spurs have controlled the tempo. Antonio Conte will keep them focused in the dressing room at half-time and make sure they get the job done.

So, as we stand at the break Manchester City are still leading the way... but only on goal difference.

What a second half we have in store...

  8. Burnley have 45 minutes to save themselvespublished at 16:57 British Summer Time 22 May 2022

    HT: Burnley 0-1 Newcastle

    Michael Emons
    BBC Sport at Turf Moor

Burnley are in their sixth successive Premier League season and have 45 minutes to save themselves and ensure a seventh.

The best news for their fans is, as it always has been today, their fate is in their hands, but they need to find two goals in the second half to secure survival.

They have only had one shot on target - Dwight McNeil shooting at Martin Dubravaka from 25 yards out - but it's the visitors who lead after Callum Wilson's 20th-minute penalty following Nathan Collins' needless handball.

And, in first-half injury time, things nearly got even worse for the hosts as Newcastle sprung quickly on a counter from a Burnley free-kick. Allan Saint-Maximin was way too fast for Josh Brownhill, but was denied by Nick Pope when he only had the England keeper to beat.

  9. 'Villa will be delighted'published at 16:55 British Summer Time 22 May 2022

    Man City 0-1 Aston Villa

    Leon Osman
Former Everton midfielder on BBC Radio 5 Live

City have not been as fluid or easy on the eye as they have been in the past. Villa have defended really well, those easy passes City usually have just have not happened. Villa will be delighted with that first half.

  10. 'Wolves should be winning'published at 16:54 British Summer Time 22 May 2022

    HT: Liverpool 1-1 Wolves

    Stephen Warnock
Former Liverpool defender on BBC Radio 5 Live

Wolves should be winning with the chances they've had - Liverpool look a bit all over the place. Some of the worst performances I've seen all season from Liverpool - decision making on the pitch has been poor but in the context of what is at stake that is probably understandable.

Big team talk at half-time from Jurgen Klopp needed.

At the bottom of the table, Burnley need to score against Newcastle because as it stands, with Leeds level at Brentford, they are down.

  12. Flat game despite carnival atmospherepublished at 16:52 British Summer Time 22 May 2022

    HT: Leicester 0-0 Southampton

    Alan Birchenall's 40th end-of-season run.Image source, Getty Images

There was a real carnival atmosphere at kick-off at the King Power after fundraising former Foxes midfielder Alan Birchenall, 76, completed his 40th and final end-of-season run around the pitch. He's raised millions of pounds for charity over the past four decades.

Birchenall was joined by a host of Foxes favourites past and present, including chairman Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha, manager Brendan Rodgers and the entire first-team squad.

The game, though, has been flat, neither team managing a shot on target - Timothy Castagne has been at the heart of both of Leicester's best moments but headed over from a James Maddison cross before setting up a sliding Jamie Vardy to poke wide.

  13. HALF-TIMEpublished at 16:51 British Summer Time 22 May 2022

    Burnley 0-1 Newcastle

    Agony for Burnley.

They head in at the break in 18th place thanks to Callum Wilson's penalty, awarded for handball against Nathan Collins.

So much can change, though. One goal here or at Brentford and the situation looks very different.

  14. HALF-TIMEpublished at 16:51 British Summer Time 22 May 2022

    Liverpool 1-1 Wolves

Sadio Mane's equaliser means Liverpool are level on points with City but still losing out on goal difference.

They have to win this game. HUGE second half to come.

  15. Leeds halfway therepublished at 16:49 British Summer Time 22 May 2022

    Brentford 0-0 Leeds

    Simon Stone
BBC Sport at the Brentford Community Stadium

Leeds are halfway to completing their salvage mission.

But they are not safe in this game. Brentford have got themselves into positions from which they could create decent chances but actually haven't done it.

Nervy 45 minutes to come for the West Yorkshire side.

  16. HALF-TIMEpublished at 16:49 British Summer Time 22 May 2022

    Man City 0-1 Aston Villa

    Wow...

    Villa lead at the Etihad!

  17. Postpublished at 16:49 British Summer Time 22 May 2022

    Liverpool 1-1 Wolves

Thiago looks in trouble as he heads off to the sidelines and straight down the tunnel with the physio.

That's a concern for Liverpool - not only for today - but with the Champions League final around the corner.

  18. HALF-TIMEpublished at 16:49 British Summer Time 22 May 2022

    Arsenal 2-1 Everton

The half-time whistle goes. Arsenal still lead - but they will have to settle for fifth place until Spurs lose at Norwich.

  19. HALF-TIMEpublished at 16:48 British Summer Time 22 May 2022

    Brentford 0-0 Leeds

Leeds go in level, holding on to 17th place by their fingernails.

  20. Postpublished at 16:48 British Summer Time 22 May 2022

    Man City 0-1 Aston Villa

City are throwing everything at it. It's crosses into the box relentlessly - and a seventh corner now - as we draw nearer to half time.

John Stones gets on the end of this one but it's comfortable for Robin Olsen.
