The pattern has been set in this opening 20 minutes.

Switzerland are dominating the play but Cameroon look lightning on the counter.

They're the ones who have created big chances, despite barely entering Swiss territory.

The Swiss midfield is crying out for the presence of Zakaria. Chance to silence his doubters at Chelsea wrong if Yakin give him a chance in the 2nd half.

In fairness Tony, Switzerland conceded just twice in qualifying and they have gone pretty tried and tested in defence.

Experienced goalkeeper Yann Sommer is protected by his Borussia Monchengladbach team-mate Nico Elvedi, while Manuel Akanji, Ricardo Rodriguez and Silvan Widmer have all played or play for different clubs in Germany's Bundesliga.

Tony: Fabian Schär arguably the best defender in the Premier League this season doesn't start for the Swiss

    Choupo-Moting is fighting for everything.

He is against two very good centre backs, but I think he'd back himself against anyone at the moment.

So glad Brentford's Mbeumo getting a chance to shine!

Like that. Granit Xhaka lifts his head and plays a lovely diagonal over the Cameroon defence but the ball just skips beyond Silvan Widmer.

Everything from Switzerland is going through Nottignham Forest's Remo Freuler or Arsenal's Granit Xhaka at the moment.

Cameroon can't afford to let them get too much time on the ball.

This game is warming up nicely.

We are so used to watching teams play out from the back, but Cameroon are lugging it forward.

It has almost worked for them twice.

Oh my. Another Cameroon chance and a good one at that.

Eric Choupo-Moting flicks the ball past Switzerland centre-back Manuel Akanji but can't get enough placement or power on his finish.

The Manchester City defender did well there to get back to put him under pressure.

Easy save in the end for Yann Sommer.

Just signs that Cameroon are growing in confidence after a slow start.

    What. A. Chance.

One long straight ball takes out the Swiss defence as Cameroon's Bryan Mbeumo races through on goal. His initial shot is straight at Yann Sommer, who parries out into the path of Karl Toko-Ekambi.

He's got time (well more than he thought he had) but blazes over from 10 yards.

Still all Switzerland, who are working the ball from side to side.

Every time Shaqiri gets the ball, Nouhou is on him.

Cameroon have been told to not give him an inch.

First chance for Cameroon to get the ball in the mixer but Bryan Mbeumo's free-kick from the left is easily headed clear by the Swiss.

You can see Cameroon are keen to go long quickly, get the ball into Choupo-Moting and get players around him early on.

It is one style I've not seen in this World Cup yet, going direct.

All Switzerland at the moment. I'm not sure Cameroon want to defend deep but their opponents have really taken the game to them.
